Need help with Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition

You will not believe this!! I reviewed the trouble shooting guide to recalibrate the TM. I shut down my computer, disconnected the TM, turned on my computer, and plugged in the TM. I then checked the windows calibration - everything is perfect!! The trouble shooting guide said that this is the way to recalibrate the TM. I went for a flight -no problems!! However, the sensitivity settings are at -50% which did not effect flying the airplane. Strange!! Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate you taking the time.

Hey y’all, I’m having some trouble with my TCA Sidestick. Seems like I have a similar issue, but maybe not quite the same? I tried restarting twice now (among other attempts) and that hasn’t worked. Any chance you guys found something that may work?

Hi, I have just received mine and the throttle has no detent (as in no feelable click or resistance). Is this correct or is it probably faulty?

Isn’t there a switch, probably underneath, to enable/disable detents?

A PC Pilot reviewer commented on this and my experience is like yours. I cannot feel the detent. Not really a problem, simply all the way back and then slightly forward when you hear ā€˜Retard’ on landing. I think it is a great controller. The switch underneath is just for changing left-hand to right-hand and you also change the button units at the top.

Mine is like this, the detent is VERY subtle. You must be paying attention to feel it.

As a bit of a postscript to this long and interesting article, pleased to see that strawturnip6135 finally got a result. I bought mine in October 2020 and its behaved reasonably well and in constant use since then. My problem started 4 to 5 months ago when there was a lot of barely perceptible snaking and Dutch rolling in the Spitfire and latterly the Hawker Hunter. This then manifested itself quite badly in the nosewheel steering the A32NX. I did manage to isolate it to flickering of the centring white ball in the Z axis which was causing the problem. No amount of sensitivity settings controller resetting’s factory settings fixed it. I contacted the Thrustmaster helpdesk and please no I have nothing but total admiration for their help and persistence in helping me fix the problem, those guys are the best. I think we both knew the problem lay in the sensor box which is connected at the base of the twist grip and arguably quite replaceable. The Thrustmaster desk suggesting I contact the vendor for a warranty claim but of course, hey ho, that eBay seller is long disappeared. I’m now resigned to having to buy new one and possibly tempted to have a look and see what else is out there. I will also use this rambling to thank each and everyone of you the writing it’s a veritable reservoir of experience, help and support. Give yourself all a big pat on the back, cheers for now, Pugwash
