Working on the Nevada bush trip. In external view no longer have a compass or a vfr map. Any ideas on how to recover these?
How can I get my VFR map back in a bush flight?
Press V on the keyboard?
Sorry, i wasn’t very clear. I have the map, but there is no guide path on it.
You aren’t supposed to access GPS positioning in a bush flight. Navigation by pilotage only is one of the built-in challenges to the MSFS bush flights.
I know GPS isn’t available. What I’m trying to get working is the VFR map. I have a map with no flight path shown.
That’s what I meant. VFR map is available but without its gps positioning (flight path) function. That’s on purpose.
Not sure of that. Videos online show a VFR map with a flight path. Likewise, the VFR map shows with a flight path in the Alaska bush flight, but i lost it in the Navada flight. Lastly, I think I had a flight path earlier but lost in on later legs. Thanks for your interest and help.
Now you’re making me doubt myself .
I don’t remember ever flying an official bush flight with a nav line on the VFR map. But it’s been a while. Maybe I’m just remembering that it didn’t show position but did show a course line. Maybe?
You’re right. It shows a line but not the position. When you ask for help, it briefly shows you a direction to get you back on track. I’ve got a VFR MAP but no direction line.
Did you leave the bush trip or was the route missing right away? If not left properly, it’s a known issue that the remaining waypoints get deleted.
Have a look here, for example: Bush Trip POIs disappeared after first leg
I had the route at the beginning of the trip. I think I lost it after I had to go back a couple of legs to get going after a crash (plane crash, not computer crash). In order to do that, I had to delete a couple of legs and may have deleted a file I needed. I tried repair in windows apps. Trying to avoic a reinstall and waiting for SU10. Thanks for the link.
