I’d recommend HDR over an upgrade to 4k personally
I am on i5-9600K | 1080TI | 32GB Gskill.
From the very beginning I play on 4K with max settings, except shadow detail and AA is off. On lighter airports I get 35-50. On JFK its 15fps..
But the situation is that no matter I dropped the res to 1080 on my other 240Hz asus monitor, it BARELY gave me any fps, like 5 or so. And going from 4K to 1080 really hurts the eye. I have to conlcude that the resolution lowering did not do any performance advantage for me, therefore I have chosen to stay at 4K.
The main limitation in this game is mainly single thread performance, and even on 5Ghz+ cpus you cannot really get up to 120fps or so.
Yup, I have an X35 3440x1440p with 1000nit in HDR. Very nice.

@BreakerHUN, 120??? The most I’ve seen has been a tick over 60, and that was at cruise over the Atlantic Ocean in a WT CJ4, on a flat panel 16:9 1440p display with a 4.8GHz all-core 10600K and an overclocked 2070 Super.
I just have a hard time believing that any commercially available HW would be capable of 120fps unless it’s an ultra simple aircraft over water or the desert, at night, in IMC, with nothing much to display at all. Not that you need that many frames for this app, for me on a flat panel above 30 is good, 40+ is about as good as it gets, and as shocking as it sounds, in VR, anything above about 25 is pretty much as smooth as butter.
How did you pull that off?
