Hello guys ,
I have just Upgraded my Pc : CPU i9-11900k , GPU RTX 3080ti , New Ram 2x16 , New Motherboard Z-590, New Water Cooler fan and New Kingstom 4tb SSD !
I was expecting a much better experience in my Msfs2020 ! More frames no stutters, smooth flight etc …
However i have Not Seen Any Improvement !
I have exactly the same settings as before ! Ultra , High , Medium with LOD 150 .
Today i load a flight around New York ( Average 26 - 35 Max ) .
So what is going on ?
Am i doing something wrong ? I have spent a lot of money for this Upgrade and to be honest i am very dissapointed .
There is a guy in You tube ( Jansn Benchmarks who has almost the same hardware as i have and with Ultra settings , and he gets great frames around New York ) .
Any help will be much appreciated
Over the last couple of years I’ve noticed, albeit less apparent lately, that the frames drop in certain places no matter what you have. NY, LA, Paris, London, sometimes San Fran, Atlanta… I could go on. How’s your performance elsewhere?
Just tried London . Frames 26 - 36 !
In Other less dense areas i go up to 50 !
The weird think is that on the Runway i usually get around 30 -35 frames and a bit of stutters. As soon i am airborne my frames usually goes up to 45 - 52 ! ( Non Dense Areas )
After SU9 something went wrong ! Everyone is complaining of lower frames than before with a few stutters !
There´s nothing wrong with your setup. SU8 broke performance and SU9 definitelly killed it. Some weeks ago I had 50fps with photogrametry enabled on the same NY area and now I have 35fps, even with photogrametry disabled.
The only chance is to wait for SU10 and pray so that any wise mind rolls back the code to the state it was before.
Nah its just not well optimized and brought too much legacy code from FSX with it. Current high end CPUs are barely running at their limits in this game even with Ultra settings enabled.
With those specs, there must be something seriously wrong, likely on the CPU side of things, since you’re limited by the main Thread.
Have you tried a clean reinstall?
Perhaps a external program is using excessive CPU power in the main thread, what does task manager say?
The code doesn’t need to be rolled back. The code needs to be fixed. But don’t expect too much from the developers. They are still failing to acknowledge that there are serious defects that need to be eliminated. That includes performance issues and plenty of crashes. And those defects are appearing in the Xbox and PC platforms indicating the problems are at the core.
This is what I did and I’m absolutely happy with the performance. Previous SUs didn’t change my FPS whatsoever and I get quite good FPSs. Probably performance, for me, is one of the last topics that I may complain.
Hey there, I have an i7-9700k with a 3070 on my older rig and absolutely am loving performance right now. Happy to share settings over DMs.
For those that do not follow the dev update webinars, they are very informative and show how awesome the dev team truly is. They have quite the demand to keep up with and bugs to fix but they are.
@FernandoPosada It really isn’t always main thread limited and doesn’t have to be that way if you tweak the proper settings in-game.
Yes, for the vast majority of players, this is true because they’re pairing a new 30-series card with a much older 8th gen or before CPU. Here, the CPU is obviously out-of-balance with the rig and should be upgraded.
We don’t go out and buy a brand new 12th gen CPU and try to play off integrated graphics? In that case, you’d be severly GPU limited and out-of-balance on the other end.
Play a balanced system and most folks have been fairly happy although we all want more and better performance that is only natural.
Many people expect way to much miracles when upgrading to newer and faster hardware.
But, even an Xbox series S can run MSFS in a decent way and only costs 300 euro.
It’s all in the expectations if you ask me…
Same, i have a mid range PC 9600k@4.8 16 gigs of DDR 4 @3200 and a GTX 1660. high settings with clouds on ultra and shadows on med. but locking my framerate at 30 is what made a night and day difference in regards to stutters. It has been a smooth enjoyable experience since.
That is one of my worries. I plan on picking up a 3070 or 3070ti to replace my 2060super and the last thing I want is the same exact performance. My CPU i7 10700KF.
Mine does stutter a lot.
I would think that upgrading from a 2060 to a 3070 you should be able to crank up the eye candy maybe even increase your resolution. its a balancing act. It always has been with flight sims.
