New release : Aerolite 103

That’s great thanks. And as @EdamllamaB says this will probably work with the GTN750 which we can probably hack the aircraft to get a working autopilot too

The Garmin 750 costs almost as much as the aircraft does in real life!

I love that IRL Garmin makes aviation smartwatches that have this level of GPS + aviation map in them, you can buy one and use it with multiple ultralights!

Yes I do and have done so. It’s pretty simple.

  1. Make a backup of the Aerolite “sound” folder. For my install it is located here:
    D:\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\Community\nemeth-a103\SimObjects\Airplanes\NemethDesigns_Aerolite103\sound
  2. Go to the Drifter “sound” folder here:
    \Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\Community\antsairplanes-drifter-a-582\SimObjects\Airplanes\antsairplanes-drifter-a-582\sound
  3. Copy the “AntsAirplanes_Drifter.PC.PCK” and the “sound.xml” file from the Drifter “sound” folder in Step 2 to the Aerolite “sound” folder listed in Step 1. Overwrite when prompted.
  4. Now you need to update the “layout.json” file for the Aerolite 103. I use this app as it has more functions than simply updating the JSON file. https://www.msfsaddons.org/freeware/liveries-manager
  5. Open the Flightsim Liveries manager app, select the “Create Layout.Json” tab at the top left then click the “Select Folder” button on the right. Navigate to “D:\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\Community\nemeth-a103”. You should see a “Content, Guages, Misc, and SimObjects” folders is the selection window. If so, you have the correct folder. Click the “Select Folder” button at the bottom right of the selection window.
  6. You should see “D:\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\Community\nemeth-a103” in the folder path field of the Livery Editor now. Click the “Generate Layout.json” button and you are done.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS WORKED GREAT!
I love flying the Aerolite as it’s great for sight seeing- low and slow
BUT the misfiring 2-stroker engine sound NEMETH used is gad awful and detracts from the enjoyment. I was to the point of just muting it which was less than ideal.
The Drifter engine sounds so much better! I even bought the Drifter just to try this fix and now my Aerolite 103 sounds so sweet and way more realistic (love the pitch changes during elevation changes) I LOVE IT!
Thanks again for the excellent workaroud!

Depending on your aircraft and whether there are existing wiring and harnesses from an older install that are suitable, or you are starting from scratch, the install could be a few thousand.

In the case of an Aerolite 103 it is not clear to me it even has an electrical system capable of handling a GTN 750XI .

Does anyone know where we can find a manual for the round GPS instrument in the panel?

This is the only documentation I’m aware of:

The gps was a later upgrade.
