Until they fix the sounds this thing is parked. There’s way better warbirds available.
guys is it possible to fix inclinometer? turn pendulum almost not moves, ball stay go on banking in opposite direction. prop animation show polygon instead circle. devs said by email they will not changing this btw all ah models have same problem with prop animation. 2022y how this is possible? one of the best modeled ac spitfire, biplane fighter, mustang all of them so cool looking and prop animation ugly like in ega graphic. so strange
I seem to have this problem now but I can’t seem to find any solutions to it?
Does anyone else have issues with the Throttle, Mixture & Propeller animations no longer working in the P-51 since the last MSFS update? My physical controllers are all working fine just no animations in VC. This makes it difficult to set to auto rich etc.
I feel the very same way, the included engine sounds are truly awful… I have heard of people using the sounds from the Flying Irons Spitfire Mk9 but does anyone know how to actually do this?
mixture don’t works right after second stage of charger, so in any way you have to stay leaning. about question. that’s problem was before not only with this ac. some time this stuff appear some time disappear. in your case is it constant problem? if yes, i don’t know for me it’s works ok some time. btw after 20k only right way to use mixture in this model it’s move lever smoothly as you can and look from close distance to rpm when it’s jump a little forw or backw and found min position where it will jump forward from move lever. it’s stay at 24000 for example you slowly move mixture and watch rpm arrow where it’s jump. long time i was sure it’s broken because at run position ac stop fly ok after 20k then i lean some and found it’s help. btw i much more like default mustangs models but ah looks too cool for stop fly her even with ugly prop animation lol. i don’t sure, but afaik in ah mustang some switcher can change to default mustang. need to read manual for be sure. may be it’s change only something but not all model… no, just reread. no way to use default model in ah model, only change pilot or use tail gear lock not by joystick but by triggering “shift+g” by default, but this is must be most useless stuff. joystick way is very comfy and intuitive
well I could be wrong but - when the super charger is used (at proper altitude) it essentially changes the air induction for the engine to match sea level air pressure. That would mean you don’t need to lean the mixture. You only lean the mixture as you gain altitude in a non-supercharged engine to maintain a proper fuel/air mixture for best engine performance. Adding Sea-level air induction at 15-20,000’ would allow or even necessitate pushing the mixture lever forward from your 10,000’ cruise position I think.
i think there more simple. this is wrong/not full modeling. and run position is auto mixture for all altitudes for all charger stages in the real stuff. as that way modeled in all other mustangs in all other simulators. autorich for landing take off and emergency power and full rich for situation when automate of mixture damaged for emergency landing. don’t sure. but think so from fragmentary memories lol
right - ‘auto mixture’ was adopted for use with the super chargers to alleviate ‘pilot error’ and reduce workload of engine management.
I don’t have the AH Mustang because as I understand it, MSFS is not properly implementing (or explaining) their fuel system modeling in the core sim.
hopefully they will get that under control AND properly explain it’s use in the SDK…eventually. Until then I hope people will cut these ‘early’ 3rd party content developers like AH some slack
I have used the plane 2-3 times, until I could no longer stand the sound of it. I tried using some sound mod from flightsim.to, but my opinion of the plane had already crashed and burned. A real shame, as the external model is great. Throwing in a 5 minute hack and call it sounds, just made me stay away from Aeroplane Heaven in the future.
And btw, I tried asking AH when they would fix the sounds, and they said the sounds are exactly as they planned it, and they will not be coming with a fix. Luckily I downloaded the plane externally (not in-sim store), so easy to remove it completely.
I got it all sorted out eventually… Turned out to be a corrupted layout.json file (I think)… I ended up solving it by re-installing an FDE mod from flightsim.to. I un-installed all of my repaints & mods from community folder with no luck and even removed & re-installed the aircraft from ORBX. It seems that even re-installing the aircraft did not overwrite the corrupted file which I thought was odd. Eventually I decided to live with the problem & installed the repaints & mod, after which it all worked properly again.
I think it was my sound edit/mod that somehow corrupted the layout.json file. I did check this but nothing stood out as the only changes were to the sound alias lines, nothing else was touched or edited.
Theres a mod on flightsim.to to change the sounds and some other issues with the FDE etc.
Also suggest the camera positions mod available here too…
The flying iron spitfire sound makes a world of difference over the stock sounds. It would also be good to see gotgravel or similar contributors/developers do an FDE & systems edit as they did on the Flying iron Spitty but I suspect that AH may be opposed to this as nothing much has been changed with the Mustang since it’s release. I am just happy to have a descent looking Mustang to fly around in MSFS, it’s my favourite warbird & a must have.
oh nice! how do you use the flying irons spitfire sounds?
Sorry if already handled
What is the scale for above the no hand hold sign for
there must be two of them gyro collimator sight size/move reaction. one for target distance, another one for the target size.
There are a number of posts around that time that describe how to substitute the P51 sounds - some relating to the Spitfire sounds and some to third-party sound solutions.
I can recommend this soundpack: just extract the sounds you want - engine in particular - and use the tools and procedures mentioned earlier.

Hey guys. Late adopter. Is there any fix out there for the prop disk?
For some reason it looks like pair of counter rotating props out there. Don’t know why they did quite that way.
