[New Release] Captain Sim 764

Flight Sim Fam…

The new simmers will have to learn and Loose money just like we all did when we first started in Flight Sim. It’s just a shame that Captain Sim would continue doing this to the Sim Community.
On the other hand …
Why would MSFS2020 even put something on Marketplace that is not good?

They just provide a platform to sell whatever everyone wants. That makes them money (30% of everything they sell goes to Asobo/Microsoft). So why not? If that makes money so the development continues then let uninformed people buy whatever they want. A simple search and a YT video are enough to make anyone judge the quality of the product. Plenty of poor products on Amazon or Google appstore and it is on the customer to find out what is good and what is not… some people are happy with CS planes.

its a mad mad world.

no its not that, its different people now, the old ones left.

The “why would MS/Asobo allow this on the store” issue has been discussed ad nauseum. Apart from the obvious answer that they want a cut of the sales, asking them to set a standard of “quality” for add-ons on the store higher than “basic function, doesn’t make users’ PC’s explode” is basically unfeasible. If you asked five different posters here what the “minimum” standard for an add-on should be, you’d get five different answers. Policing this would require them to have employees devoted to it basically full time, making subjective judgments that would inevitably anger someone one way or another.

It’s almost like to draw a profit you also draw responsibility and need to be prepared to make an effort.

It´s the Boeing 7647! Like the title says. A new fantasy creation with some random cockpit gauges.

Jokes aside, “764” in this case is shorthand for 767-400. You’ll also see people refer to “773” (for a 777-300) or a “732” (the early 737-200), etc.

Alright…I went against most people’s advice and bought the 764 last weekend. I downloaded the compatibility mods to use the salty flight model.

To be honest, it really isn’t that bad. By no means will it be a frequent flyer for me but I feel that I will get my money’s worth of enjoyment out of it.

Anyone else out there feel the same way?

If you should buy a book called Moby Duck that begins with “Call me Ithmail” you may get some enjoyment from it but you would also be supporting a plagiarist and a thief.

To be honest while it does get a lot of hate–and I have personally given it a lot of hate–if you enjoy it then thats good. People all have differing levels of expectations from sim aircraft and if your looking for a fun time flying a not super in depth aircraft, then props to you. If you enjoy it I think a lot of that is what matters, as long as you weren’t tricked into believeing it was some super study level aircraft before buying. The reason I say that is because thats what a lot of peoples expectations are for the aircraft, and thats what they used to be for CaptainSim, so when they released the CS 777 +767 serieses people were upset. I know a couple of people who enjoy it purely for visuals.

Well than it’s their own fault. Let me be honest here. The CS store is telling you that the plane is based on the Asobo 747 system. The page is showing you pictures with 747 screens. If someone is still buying it and starts to complain i have to question their reading skills.

Not every new simmer is going to know that 747 has 4 engines and a 7/5/6/7 should only have 2 or may they may not care. But when you see 4 engines in the display of a 2 engine airplane with absolutely zero effort to hide it, it is designed to catch those un-aware and those who are desperate.

Sadly or fortunately depending on how you see it, MSFS has attracted many very new people, who kinda of know they want to experience flying a plane, but dont really know how deep they want to go until they try it.

This is when the CS 7X& con smacks them in the face, and this is when they see its a joke. Some are happy to just use it, some mod it out… It is not aimed at serious simmers, its aimed to catch low hanging fruit if you will pardon my expression, but its true.

Its got nothing to do with people not being able to read etc or being silly, it is a con product designed to con the masses, and in my opinion they want this on the xbox where the market is more focused and in many cases less informed.

Saying all this, if it makes you happy then great, after all that is what it is all about!

But everyone knows the legendary Jumbo Jet and the fact that is has four engines, while every other Boeing has two. (Except very old airplanes like the 727, but I guess this Boeing type has disappeared a long long time ago slowly but completely in the sixties…)
Who does not know the most simple and most obvious things about airplanes has clearly no interest in airplanes and avionics and is no simmer, but some arcade gamer…
And a flight simulation and payware addons should not be programmed in a sloppy and non-dedicated way that it only attracts some simpleton action arcade gamers, while the rest of the world is wanting their money back after the purchase, and “going to never-ever buy something again”…

Thank u all. Looks like they will never learn. Pigs get slaughterrd eventually.

The strange thing is Captain Sim was a great team back in the old FSX days, almost PMDG quality and superb visuals - and they create the best P3D planes that exist.

I don´t know what suddenly brought them to the idea “hey let´s do something different with this newest flight sim and let us begin develop complete trash addons with non-existent fictive cockpits and install various random cockpit gauges mixed together from several other planes!”

(they probably tried to frankenstein together the until now never released uber-plane, a mix of Boeing 747, 767, and 777  )

I think there is an entirely new development and management team. Clearly the og guys left.

That´s why they are naming their planes always “Captain Sim 764” or other strange numbers instead of Captain Sim 767…

764 is the IATA code for the 767-400ER.
