Looks like a good place to fly my C750 (and any of the other promising bizjets we’re due this year) into.
Urgh, having a time limit on an upgrade discount is a pretty crummy thing to do.
Two weeks seems reasonable to me. It’s fairly inexpensive to begin with.
Why put a time limit on a discount for people that already purchased v1? There’ll be plenty of people that miss the discount because they never even knew about it. That’s a great way to sour relations with your previous customers.
I bought it instantly and exactly for that reason. Will test it tomorrow.
To be fair, there aren’t many devs who offer a 50% discount on a complete remake. MK typically offer 30%, whereas Pyreegue chose to lower the full retail price of Edinburgh v2 to satisfy both new and existing owners. It’s no doubt designed to get you to buy quickly — after all, keeping your coffers topped up to support R&D is paramount in order to continue developing top-notch scenery.
But another point is that the store you purchased the original from should alert you if there’s a paid update you may be interested in.
I bought the V1 version direct from the Flightbeam site last year precisely because of the C750, but can’t see the new V2 on there. Wondering whether it’s just a matter of waiting for them to update the web page, or whether I should try to link/transfer it on Contrail.
As far as I know, Dreamflight no longer have a contract with Flightbeam.
Bought it with the discount and overall it’s a nice scenery with nice upgrades. For $8, I’ll take it. No huge mistakes stuck out, but of course I didn’t spend a ton of time looking at every detail. Overall, nice upgrade for those who want to have the absolute latest… if you’re holding out for something new, I’d save your $8 and put it towards another product if you absolutely don’t need or want the upgrade to v2. Still though - solid product.
In the checkout cart I paste the discount code and nothing is discounted. Am I doing something wrong? I own v1…
Perhaps because I originally bought it on Simmarket then transferred my order to contrail is why the discount code isn’t doing anything?
Seems this one IS coming to the Flightbeam store.
Good to know, but I just asked for a transfer of V1 to Contrail - easy peasy and already granted.
Well it does have potential to become a fantastic scenery, but it seems that no one bothered to test it and it could use a bit of polish (lots of flat cars on the aerial image all around the airport).
I’m not overly fussed about satellite imagery cars but the remnants of the planes are a bit much. Since both are inside the perimeter fence, you’d have thought they’d have cleaned it all up.
The issue here is, and I’m always disappointed when scenery devs do this, the airport does not have custom aerial imagery, so there is no proper way to remove flat aircraft sticking out under pavements or flat cars for that matter.
Whatever 3D object is visible on the default aerial image, they must either cover it with a generic texture (which tends to look quite bad) or cover it with a 3D model. Either way, it’s not so straight forward to make it look good.
A custom aerial image would solve everything. Disappointing that they cut corners here.
Finally got TEB, which is kinda’ a home field for me so nice to have something better than autogen. Question for folks here: It appears as MSFS2020 in 2024 My Library under Community Content. Is this what others see? And is there a 2024 version I missed when downloading from the Contrail app (embarrassed to admit my first Contrail purchase). Thanks for any input!
You see it that because it’s 2020 native, compatible with 2024. I have no idea if they plan a native 2024 version. I kind of hope so.
