Time to replace UK2000’s version? It seems to have the same surroundings modelled so I suspect Fly X took a good look at the competition…
@mhron this looks good
A great choice of location. As soon as I finish my current flight I’m gonna buy this. I have it easier because I don’t own UK2000’s one. I have Pyreegue’s EGAA for Belfast only.
What a beautiful addon. Highly recommended. FSS E190 in BA CityFlyer livery from London City EGLC to Belfast City EGAC…
Must admit, it’s gonna be a hard sell for me — doesn’t really look any better than UK2000’s, except for the terminal interior. In fact, the terminal landside looks less detailed.
Likely a good buy for anyone who doesn’t have UK2000’s EGAC.
I don’t regret. I’m not good at making screenshots and in reality it looks better. The only purchase I regret recently is Propair EBCI. I should have waited for a discount.
I don’t think it’s a regrettable purchase if you don’t have UK2000’s. It’s just a much harder sell if you already own that version.
Going off on a tangent a bit but EBCI doesn’t look great, to be honest. It it were by Pyreegue, Jo Erlend or MK, I’d not hesitate… but Propair? Probably not.
I’ve also sat on the fence with this one. I recently bought EGPP from Inibuilds having previously installed RDPresets one and that was a dilemma. I agree that there just doesn’t appear to be enough difference over the UK2000 version to warrant buying it. I installed Belfast scenery from Flightsim.to which looks pretty good alongside the UK2000 EGAC.
Wish Fly X modelled the check-in/terminal section on the lower level and gave landside a bit more details-something their West Knock had nicely done.
PracticallyGeek reviewed this airport yesterday and it really doesn’t look any better than the much older UK2000 version. There’s some good modelling in and around the terminal but barely any GSE clutter (what little there is looks default), and the only part of the huge retail complex Fly X have modelled is the Ikea. By comparison, UK2000 modelled virtually everything.
Fly X seem very inconsistent. I agree with amarks1’s sentiment: that their Knock was better detailed.
On fs2024 (not tested on fs2020), be careful about the heavy GPU usage at night in the terminal (due to the lighting in the apron and terminal), as it causes slowdowns and FPS drops. You can use utilities like gpu-z to see how GPU usage skyrockets when we’re in the parking lot, very close to the main terminal. It’s a shame, it wouldn’t be a bad scenario; hopefully they’ll optimize this.
