Currently only Simmarket but no doubt other stores will follow soon. I don’t own any France VFR airports (yet) — they always look accurate, with great texturing, but appear to use a lot of default assets and of course have no interiors (likely reflected in the price as they’re inexpensive). This new project looks to have a much better landside than is typical for FVFR, though.
Incidentally, this is now the third version of Bastia we have in the sim, although the other two are for FS2020 so compatibility with the new sim not guaranteed (probably a moot point since FVFR’s looks the best).
Looks like it will be my first France VFR airport too, fellas. I quite like the look of Figari but I have to admit, BMOTW’s new 2024 version looks superior (and is a similar price).
By the way, looking at images, there DOES appear to be some degree of terminal interior modelling.
Unfortunatly yesterday TBM930 flight LFML-LFKB IFR Flight MSFS2024. Surprise to discover there was not any arrival and approach procedure available in Garmin 3000 !
But it’s working fine with MSFS2020.
This MSFS2020 Add On is NO MSFS2024 full compatible despite what’s indicated.
As far as I know, France VFR are very meticulous when it comes to accuracy, both visually and procedurally. I’d honestly be surprised if there was a problem.
@mhron, can you let me know if there’s an issue, please?
By the way, for UK buyers, it’s now available from Just Flight, £7.99.
No issues at all, I’m happy with the airport. A great performance, the textures are decent and they modelled the baggage area, so from the apron the terminal is not a dummy box coated in textures. I also like how they’ve done the area in front of the terminal. The location is also the star here - the approach to RWY16 was absolutely stunning.
Lovely little airport, particularly for the price. No issues with navigation, either — cleared for a visual approach to RWY16 (not sure if the airport has ILS IRL). Lots of default Asobo vehicles landside — and a few airside — but a good amount of custom clutter, too. A few areas of detail in less obvious places are done in lower-res but I’d rather that than have them omitted entirely.
The choice for Figari is less straight-forward as BMOTW’s new 2024 version looks better than FVFR’s.
As @mhron and @JakTrax78 have already reported, it’s a great little airport. It’s my first airport from France VFR and I’m pleasantly surprised because this developer has always flown under my radar until now. But the ground textures are great, I really like the photorealistic building textures and the level of detail is also very good. One weak point for me are definitely the standard Asobo cars. Bastia is therefore one of those sceneries that benefits greatly from Pyreegue’s Motorworks add-on, as you can see in my screenshots below.
My screenshots were taken using Rex Atmos Core, Reshade, GSX Pro and Pyreegue Motorworks.
Terrific Bastia Poretta screenshots-and the price point for France VFR airports always impress me, might pick up this to go along with their great Ajaccio LFKJ.
I think FVFR stepped up their game recently. Their airports from only 12 months ago look quite poor in a number of ways — most notably in their landsides, which are left to very low-res default satellite imagery.
What impresses me most about Bastia (and perhaps other FVFR airports?) are the custom animated people wandering around, both airside and landside. There are even some officials, dressed in proper French uniforms!
LFKB is my first France VFR airport so I can’t comment on Ajaccio, but PES’ version is solid. There seem to be a few trade-offs between the two, e.g. FVFR’s has more photorealistic textures, while PES’ has a pretty detailed terminal interior. Where I think FVFR really shine is in their ground textures — while they may not be the sharpest or highest resolution out there, they’re incrediby true-to-life (yes, this saddo has sat and made full comparisons).
Not having the Orbx version, I can’t say for sure, but I compared screenshots of the two before settling on France VFR’s. Apart from its use of default Asobo vehicles (including a couple airside, annoyingly), FVFR’s appears to be much more accurate. And it’s cheaper, too!
