Is there a trick to getting the Tail number to change to the custom one? I’ve only recently realised it’s not saving it. It wasn’t too long ago the planes got an update, did the update remove custom registrations?
I may be mistaken, but I thought you could only do that on the custom livery.
I guess that’s what it is and I’m just mis-remembering, that and the fact the registration label does change on the cockpit panel regardless is adding to the confusion.
I noticed that when I use the GTN750 and I am on external view, it does not show on the instrument panel. Actually it always shows the default panel no matter what from the outside. Does anyone know a fix for this? If there’s no fix would be good to have updated panels with the current system you are using. I know it’s not a big thing but it kinda breaks immersion for me. Thanks.

This update will also be submitted to both the MSFS 2020 and 2024 Marketplaces (PC and Xbox) at the same time, so should hopefully be available within a couple of weeks after that.

Just received the email that the updates have been released.
I’m curious, the change log above lists “Fixed missing NAV/GPS switch labels on ‘Clean’ texture set” but that one is not included in the change log at PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV (MSFS) Changelog : The Spirit of Flight Simulation. Not sure which one is correct.
Updated manuals are here: PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV (MSFS) Manual : The Spirit of Flight Simulation
(please include a date or version number in future manuals)
Installed fine and took it for a quick test flight to refamiliarise and check it works ok. I only tried with nav radios and they picked up VORs fine and the HSI tracked them well. Autopilot worked well on heading and nav modes, haven’t tried anything else yet in terms of avionics.
Ground handling is vastly improved. I tried a circuit with a 20kt crosswind and it behaved really nicely!
A couple of small things I noticed.
-
The tablet function option colour doesn’t tally with the cockpit for the HSI. i.e. when the HSI is selected, it has the dark black background on the tablet, but the other functions, GPS, state saving etc are light grey when enabled.
-
State saving doesn’t kick in quick enough. I did a flight, parked up and enabled the parking brake, chocks and tie downs. Then, after reloading the flight, the aircraft started rolling down a slope, I had to quickly press shift-c to get in the cockpit and then the state saving kicked in, enabling the parking brake etc. to be restored and functional.
Anyway, thank you for the update (and for all the updates recently), I’ve been really looking forward to taking this old friend out again.
If you’re encountering the issue with a non-functioning aircraft and EFB tablet, please refer to my post here: PA-28R Arrow III from Just Flight - #1810 by NORTMAR

Hi, no time for a checkride yet, sorry.
Do JF changed/fixed the Turbo-Engine Mixture behaviour? Or is it still somehow broken/unrealistic?
THX
no change. you’re still going to have to work the mixture like you would on a normally aspirated engine
that is a shame, black square all ready proved it can be fix even in fs2020…
Add/edit these lines to your engines.cfg and not only will the turbo work much closer to reality, but you’ll be able to start the engine with the mixture in idle/cutoff and advance once it fires
edit these lines:
max_design_mp=45
critical_altitude=6000
add these lines:
use_intake_density_on_mixture=1
mixture_lever_to_ratio_table=0:0.024, 0.3:0.03, 1:0.10
use_volumetric_fuel_flow=1
Can we please have it added for xbox players?
I was just wondering the same thing! I take it the update is just for PC at present?
Are the “Share” files still applicable since the 6a versions were published?
Hi all. We were aiming to release updates today but have decided to postpone until tomorrow to give us more time for installer and testing work.
Coming tomorrow (PA28 Turbo Arrow III/IV v6.1):
- PMS50 GTN750 not showing and the GNS430/530 not powering on (PA28 Arrow/Turbo Arrow bundle only)
- GPS screen brightness logic improved - now defaults to full brightness, combined navigation/radio light switch tooltip now shows more info on position
- Interactive paper charts enabled again and WASM crash issue fixed
Also coming soon (not necessarily tomorrow):
- Overhead dome light artwork improved
- Engine manifold and fuel flow gauge needles made longer to better match real aircraft (PA28 Arrow/Turbo Arrow only)
- Custom fuel and payload menu added to our EFB tablet
Thanks for all the continued feedback, and patience with resolving the bundle issues over the weekend. As mentioned earlier, these updates are focused on bringing the PA28s to MSFS 2024 largely as-is, with more significant upgrades planned for later in the year, once we’ve finished bringing our other aircraft to MSFS 2024, released the F70/100 etc.

Hi Martyn. When do you think the 2024 update will be available on Simmarket? It’s been some while now but Simmarket still only has the old version
Likely to be tomorrow now. They’re unable to get this live until we send to them. We’d hoped to send to them yesterday but that proved too optimistic as we were unable to complete the work on the ‘update to the update’ until this morning. That’s now done and for those who bought from our website they can go and redownload from their accounts.
We’re now compiling the third party versions and they’ll be sent out later today or first thing in the morning which would suggest SM and others will have this live for you all tomorrow latest.
Hope that helps. Replied on behalf of Martyn for you.
Here’s the change log for PA28 Turbo Arrow III/IV v6.1, which is now live:
- Fixed custom MSFS callsign preventing WASM gauge from loading - Interactive Paper Charts re-enabled
- Improved GPS display brightness logic - All GPS displays now default to full brightness when the combined navigation/radio light switch is OFF, then they can be varied throughout the rest of the switch range - switch tooltip now also shows more info on position
- Fixed PMS50 GTN750 option not available on EFB/Tablet (PA-28R Arrow III & Turbo Arrow III/IV Bundle only)
- Fixed GNS430/530 not powering on (PA-28R Arrow III & Turbo Arrow III/IV Bundle only)
