How do you get the Sky4SimPad and TDS on the iPad?
Using a freeware app called Spacedesk. Turns an iPad (or PC, Android, or anything that runs HTML5) into a second display for your Windows PC. The really cool aspect is that the touchscreen works under Windows, so you can use the TDS GPS and Sky4Sim tablet just like the real thing, touching the onscreen buttons.
I was originally using an app I owned called Duet Display, but it stopped working and Spacedesk is free, so swapped over. The added benefit is that Spacedesk supports a wireless connection, where Duet charges extra for that.
AFAIK MSFS popouts do not support touch. You need to use popout manager to support touch in the panels you pop out to a touch screen.
Sky4Sim and the TDS GTN 750Xi both support touch. Sky4Sim runs in a web browser, and TDS is its own app window. So no popout manager needed.
Sorry thought you were discussing the Sky4Sim in-game planel or the GNT in-game panel.
No, I was specifically talking about using those panels on the iPad, as an alternative to in-game panels. Thereâs no need to tie into an in-game panel if youâre using them on an external display.
Anyone got this on XBOX? Does it work fine ? Thanks !
Yep, flies really nicely.
Got it and youâre right, itâs a pleasure to fly !
Ok I did a dozen flights with this plane, here are my observations:
- Performance is amazing, the plane can take off and land on a dime, can fly at 40kts without stalling and yet it can cruise at 150kts with ease.
- Nice textures outside and inside.
- Sounds are fine.
The minor things I noticed that can be improved are:
- I couldnât find any cockpit lighting except the screens, maybe the real plane is like this but something would be nice for night flying, the AP buttons are almost impossible to see in the dark.
- The fuel selector has a lock that needs to be pushed-pulled to move to the OFF position, this is the same as in the Tecnam P06T and in that plane it is correctly modeled. Would be nice to have it here.
- Even making the copilot weight zero it is still visible in the external views. I would like to be able to fly solo.
- Plane pitches up violently when AP is disconnected this is a clear bug that should be fixed, quite annoying.
- If the canopy is opened and then the master battery turned off the canopy appears closed again. A minor bug.
Overall a very nice touring plane with good range, good speed and certainly capable of operating in anything resembling an airfield.
Great plane to impress ATC when you land and exit the runway 100ft ahead without backtracking.
A couple extra tidbits:
-
- IMO AP is too aggressive sometimes when engaging lateral navigation, scary I would say. Then it behaves well for the rest of the flight.
-
- Found the ILS capture is hit and miss, works about 50% of the time.
-
- The heading bug responds to the G3X HEADING BUG INC and DEC events by adding or substracting 10 degrees to the heading, should be one, this bothers cockpit builders or people, like me, that has a device configured to send those events for planes using the G3X.
Not at all impressed with the flight model. Rolls slower than a 172, and you canât stall it in level flight. Landing gear doesnât seem to add any appreciable drag, nor does anything less than full flaps. Put it in level flight, and pull it to idle and you can go out and have dinner before it stalls. Needs way more drag. The trim is also overly sensitive, which seems pretty common in many MSFS aircraft. Tough to trim for level flight.
I am not clear why it would stall if you trim for level flight and then drop power to idle and let it be.
Most aircraft will just start to descend.
I never fly without Sara. She goes everywhere with me. Just picked this up on the sale and look forward to flying it tomorrow.

quick fix: systems.cfg pitch_use_elevator_only=1 change it to zero
Level flight, as in holding altitude⊠Your AOA is irrelevant, as pitch is adjusted to maintain altitude, until you stall. Takes minutes in this thing.
The latest updates with the prop are amazing and improved the overall experience of the plane. I am wondering if others are still also having this same issue with level flight on the PFD? I certainly am and it is quite disconcerting, it would be great if a fix can be rolled out for this.
hi there;
i bought the plane instantly as it looks like a Pipersport cruiser ps28 wich i fly in real life.
now there is a problem on startup.
i put it on a runway as it is already run-up.
i release the parking brake and put full throttle. rpm goes up but the plane just keeps standing where it is.
reinstalled it , started up again , tryed everything.
you guys should have a look at this please.

Works perfectly for me. I suggest youâve got a control binding to the parking brake or similar. Try using default controls only (ie keyboard) and if it works ok then youâll know itâs your set up.
Works perfectly here too. I fly it quite a bit.
What airplane are you talking about? The FSReborn Sting S4? or the Blackwing?
I am the developer of the Sting S4. If so, open the tablet located on the left side pocket, verify you don;t have the chokes in place, which would prevent the aircraft from moving.
Also if you are talking about the FSReborn Sting S4, please contact me via the appropriate channels for support that is either via my support email which can be found on the FAQ on the tablet or my own discord channel. Tagging me via public forums is not the best way to reach me, please understand I read MSFS forums from time to time on my own leisure, is not the official way of asking for my help.
All the best,
Raul
