New Release: Pilot's Boeing B314 "The Clipper" Flying Boat

Sorry to ask something stupid but couldn’t find anything in the manual, how do I switch off the mooring ropes to be able to taxi?
I have all engines running and everything looks fine but the plane is still moored.

There’s a switch on the very left side of the engineer’s station, near the fuel pumps.

I’m having an interesting issue. I purchased the model through the Marketplace. When I go to download it, the download begins as they typically do. It then slows to a standstill. Once the download speed reaches 0, the process starts over again. Based on that sketchy description, any thoughts on why my system might be doing this?

Hi Luis,

I have placed this with the mooring light switch here:

When the switch is up, then the mooring lines and position hold mode are activated, but only when on water and below a certain very low speed threshold.

When the switch is clicked so it is down, then the mooring ropes release and position hold mode is turned off.

Please forgive for question.
I have tried to use the DF radios but can not find where to tune them to those lower frequencies.
All I see is normal NAV frequencies.

How do you get the ground trolley?

Please contact me via our support email with a screenshot for clarification.

Jerome

There is no ground trolley implemented, as MSFS is currently not setup to handle something like that.

With this being the case, is it at all possible to start cold and dark?

You can start cold and dark in any water parking spot. If you’re on PC, there are several water runways included with the 314, and there are addons that add water runways all over the world.

You can also use any of these four addons to start cold anywhere on land/water:

(though if you want to start on land make sure you’re in an amphibious, not just a seaplane!)

Disclosure: I’m the developer of Location Manager

Are the water runways not included in the Xbox version?
Can you not select a dock parking spot in Xbox?

Can someone explain how the Propeller RPM box works? I’ve tried to adjust to Low RPM following the start up procedures in the manual but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
Also I’d like to know how do you navigate with the radios?
There is an external power options, but how do you take advantage of it If you can’t dock anywhere.
Also the version in the marketplace does not come with extra water runways.

A good tutorial of this plane would be great.

There is no Xbox version…yet?

Hmm… that is strange. The text copy on the Marketplace page says it does.

TJ, you need to hold those switches in the up or down position for a while for them to have any effect. I coded them and tested them, they definitely work, it’s just that they do not instantaneously decrease or increase the RPM, they are definitely functional.

As far as the seaports and water runways are concerned, we were unable to include these directly with the B-314 at the Marketplace, we do have a guide though that explains in great detail how to freely download and install them. Please take a look at the Manual folder inside the main B-314 Marketplace installation folder, there is a PDF file located there titled:

PILOT’S_B-314_Seaports_Installation_Guide.pdf

I’m unable to post the PDF directly here, as forum restrictions do not allow me to post any PDF. Please see the images below, taken directly from that PDF, that detail the download and installation procedure.

Ok thanks for the confirmation. But should the green lights above the switches light up?

TJ, the green lights currently have no function. The propeller RPM gauges on the Engineer panel should provide adequate info on the RPM rising or falling when those switches are used.

Anyone having problems with this happening while sitting idle?

It’s a known bug. Turn off the mooring lines before starting the engines.
