Overall not sure on this one, external and cockpit looks pretty good but it’s SimMarket so I am very hesitant to try it, especially for $41 from a developer i’ve never heard of.
the description lists ‘classic Hud,map.’ as a feature which is really off putting but it also says ‘weapons can be fired’ overall this seems like it’ll either be pretty good or very bad.
I’ll definitely be interested to see some reviews of this one. As you say it looks like the quality could go either way and the price is too high to want to take a speculative punt on it.
The last of the gunfighters! The screenshots look pretty decent, though I’m not sure about the HUD. Browsing through Google images it looks like the map screen is there, though it may have been a radar scope in the original. As for the HUD, it’s my understanding that the first aircraft to have a HUD was the A-7 which came after this. If anything it may have had a sight similar to a F-4 which was just for aiming, though maybe the French retrofitted theirs with a HUD? I think I’ll take the plunge once I get home later.
This is definitely up my street but it’s pretty strong money for someone I’m not familiar with.
The developer has some well regarded stuff for other sims like an A400M. I’ll be keen to hear what others make of it.
Seen the video but it doesn’t show anything like enough of the aircraft and how it performs to give me any idea if it’s any good.
Nice music but why no engine sounds? I will never understand why these marketing videos have music in the background but rarely provide inside/outside cockpit audio which is what I would guess a lot of us (me definitely) would be more interested in.
I will have to wait for reviews especially as it’s not a cheap one. For Euro 34.80 I need to know a bit more especially since I haven’t any knowledge regarding the devs previous products.
Yeah, I am curious about this one. Gonna wait and see what the consensus is… That’s a bunch of money for a developer I have never heard of.
Great, all I need on final approach is a load of crazy kids online fireing rockets around the place…
What do you mean ‘kids’ ? That’ll be me!
Only kiddin’
Hahahahahahaha I hate to admit it but it would be me too!
I’m almost tempted to be the one who bites the bullet this time, but man, that’s some hard cash for sure. I’ll need to know a lot more than the product description and video are letting on. Show me the startup procedure, or anything about the systems.
Yeah it really is, if it was a developer I knew and came with a series of videos showing features in action I would jump on but for a developer who I have never heard of it’s a little too close to PMDG prices for me to even think about risking it, especially from SimMarket.
I feel the same, I think it’s going to be better to wait until someone with way more disposable income decides to pick it up.
Roland Laborie has been developing since the FS2004 days. Go on the Avsim library and search for his name.
I take no judgment on the merits of this particular add-on but he is decidedly not some Johnny-come-lately.
I’ll bite the bullet and try it out, but it won’t be until later when I’m home.
I’ll be looking for your feedback mate.
I’m not home for a few hours myself but I’m intrigued enough to maybe have a look myself…take one for the team so to speak.
I can’t speak about the MSFS model but I can say that this is a developer with a long standing in flight sim so it’s no fly-by-night like some of the others. It can be a very long process getting a store running on the official marketplace ( months ) so many devs head to the third party stores first so they can build sales and a reputation, it’s not necessarily a sign of low quality.
The video looks promising - hopefully we have a good rendition of the “Last of the Gunfighters” for MSFS!
Based on a couple portions of the video it looks like it was based off a later French variant, as the earlier US variants didn’t have blown flaps, so maybe that’s where the HUD comes from too.
I’ll grab it for anything than to just smash it down on a carrier a few times, as these seemed really dicey to land on a carrier.
Yup, that’s 99% of the time from a dev with a high price and a name I haven’t heard of.
