Here you go… Some shots.
Overall, this isn’t bad AT ALL. I find myself enjoying it A LOT more than the Cri Cri. Let’s get into details.
GRAPHICS:
They are ok. Not bad. Not stellar. Visual model seems ok in terms of texturing, the rivets look decent, it comes with a few colourful liveries. But I find that the flaps look a little… plastic - look at the shot with them in the down position. Everything just looks shiny and brand new like this thing has never been flown before. It’s not detailed enough. The cockpit looks decent too. Overall, I am not complaining here at all, but this isn’t your Carenado or JustFlight quality. This isn’t a knock, but it does make things look sterile.
GROUND HANDLING:
It’s twitchy a little bit on takeoff, but it’s pretty good. Smooth sailing. EXCEPT!!! One inexplicable thing is that the cockpit has a parking brake switch that is modeled. But it’s INOP. Moreover, the parking brake just doesn’t work even if you toggle it with a joystick. So when you fire up that engine, make sure you are fully on idle, or this thing begins to roll. I’d like to see this fixed ASAP.
SOUND:
Really weak. Cockpit canopy is open but doesn’t make a sound when you close it. Switches don’t have sound. There is no sound change when you close the canopy. Engine just has a low hum and doesn’t sound very impressive at all. I don’t know what that real engine sounds like, but the whole thing has a feel of a budget low-powered vacuum cleaner. The sound is the weakest part of this package.
SYSTEMS:
There isn’t much to talk about here. The MGL avionics are nice, but only the VERY basics are modeled. No Synthetic Vision, No Autopilot (which the real unit provides), no map. This is a visual flight only. The nice part is you can switch between a Garmin-like view with the altitude and speed indicator and a “steam gauge” version. I actually prefer flying in the “steam gauge” mode because I can easily see everything I need including VS, flaps position, etc. You will notice in a shot or two, there is a G-force indicator that pops up in the middle of the screen if you do anything twitchy that causes your G-forces to drastically change. This also happens on landing (understandably so). That whole row of buttons underneath is INOP. You can change the altitude with one of the right knobs, but I am not sure what the use for that is without an autopilot. I have to look at this system a little more. There is a touchscreen cursor, but not quite sure what it’s for as I haven’t been able to click anything on screen with any result.
FLIGHT:
It’s VERY easy to fly. Easy to trim. Pleasure to handle. There is a smoke system if you are into that kinda thing. Be careful as it takes a bit of time for it to slow down from cruise speed before you begin your descent. It took a couple of minutes to bleed it off before I could descend. The “steam gauge” view also provides the white arc, which is generally the safe flap operating range. So that’s useful to see how much further I need to slow down before I can let the flaps down. There are 3 flap stages. The gear retracts and the animation looks nice. I really enjoyed flying it. Takeoff and landing are smooth - just keep your aircraft centered during takeoff, it can get a little twitchy.
OVERALL:
This isn’t something that will satisfy anything who is into really in-depth aircraft, but it’s nicely done for a first release. Despite the limits in implementation, I enjoy having even a basic avionics package that isn’t Garmin to look at.
I really hope the parking brake is implemented.
If you want a personal mini-jet, this is enjoyable. I can see this for VFR sightseeing that CAN go slow (traveling about 65 knots during descent with flaps out) but CAN go above 200 knots if you want. Just get me a parking brake.
I don’t regret it. Your mileage may vary. Don’t come to me asking for refunds, I will send you VERY far away. (Yes, I have had people do that)
