I totally agree its flight simulator - at first i was very discouraged when i did the training i was like i dont like this and gave up at first.
Then as i watched more videos, tutorials, and thought get back into it glad i did . I now use the explore cities - fly around and now i plan my dream destinations - no problem in taking off but always crazy landings - good for blooper reels .
Its amazing experience, love the real time aspect - but now i try to loggin few hours everyday of flight time learn to stuff - how to same task, how i can improve my skills.
so should i still invest in the Hotas i think it was $100 cad on amazon and get pedals?
I always been fan of flight simulator never had good gaming pc to ever play it and when heard it was coming to xbox - i was excited and also upgraded my xbox series s for it also.
So far i logged 20 hours - i feel so much to learn/experience with this and able to get the right experience with the right joysticks or gear and go from there.
I had a massive 30 year pause between when I was very much into flight simulators (I worked for Spectrum Holobyte/Microprose in the ‘90s) and now when I, too, saw FS20 was headed to Xbox.
wow that is amazing working in game industry tbh i havent played any of their games - the simulations games i grew were with Sim city/The sims series. theme hospital - and now on xbox playing two point hospital/cities skylines/the sims 4/civilizations and now flight simulator
Is the gameplay on pc/xbox the same? how do you get passengers or is that mods only?
Provided you restrict yourself 100% to Marketplace products that are only available on both platforms, then yes, they are the same.
However, the PC opens up so many outside the marketplace options and other products within the marketplace itself that aren’t available to Xbox, that it can very quickly depart from being the same — nor should it be, really.
If you are flying a Cessna, for instance, and don’t want to click the frequency change in the ATC window, you’re going to need to look at the radio and program a frequency in manually.
I always tune my radios manually. The only exception is when using a glass cockpit and the ILS frequency is automatically programmed into the Nav via the computer.
i dont get it, i never ever have to do that, it goes auto, you need to change a setting for it.
i think its let copilot(or ai) handle freqeuncy change.
i still don’t understand this step manually entering the radio frequency - sorry i’m a slow learner.
I click on settings then click ATC - then click first option the first com and sometimes other is traffic/weather report.
do i have to turn on other buttons on the plane nav comm etc? i had options to request take off etc but never got the option talk to grounds grew then - i had autopilot on he contacted the atc for taxi backup to runaway
If you’re seeing options for selecting a radio frequency in the ATC window, then you definitely have the radio on. If you don’t it usually shows the ATC window with some red text boxes rather than frequency choices.
Once you’ve chosen a Ground or a Tower frequency you should see choices of what to transmit to them.
Are you doing this while sitting on the runway or in a parking spot or gate at the airport?
no, its a settings in the assistence menus. via main menu etc. not when flying.
i advise you to go through all settiings to get a feel for what is there.
be carefull with assistence tho, you do not want all on.
I click on the Atc icon in selections menu and click on the comm 1 button and connects me to the radio and hear the people talking and gives me options request take-off/landing etc
im doing this parked either at gate or parking spot - at first i was just taking off directly from runway - until i found out you can also leave from the terminals - as these are small airports im taking off from
To request taxi clearance, you’d want to tune to Ground and choose that option. ATC will give you instructions to taxi to a runway via some taxiways. Turning on taxi assistance is really helpful for following the route to the runway.
Once you’re at the solid painted line just short of turning onto your assigned runway, you tune to Tower and request takeoff clearance.
The easiest way to get started with the above is to set up a really basic flight plan in the World Map using a basic aircraft (Cessna 152) and selecting a parking spot as your starting point rather than a runway. Use the toolbar to open the checklist and run through the basic startup checklists to get the aircraft powered and started. From there begin your radio work.
Thank your the tips - will read them and try it out - why does everybody like cessna 152? easier to fly?
something weird happen last nite - my total flying hours were 4hours yesterday as of 8pm. I didnt fully close the game just shut off my console and today i logged in - my flight hours was 20 hours - and i didnt even travel far - like from Toronto to flying over suburbs of ontario - how does that happen?
