Hi, you can call me: FR8S
Got my Private Pilots License on 2004 but stopped flying in a year because my wife didn’t like it. That’s when I started with FSX, back in 2006 (or 2007, I forget???). Several years later I decided to give it a try again and was going to build my own plane, a Zenith CH750, but then realized we needed a more useful load, so I ended up buying a 1964 Cherokee 180. Loved it and flew it for 3 years before I had to sell it due to moving to an area with no available hangars.

Only played FSX and am looking forward to the latest MSFS24, but first I need advice on building a new system. My budget…. I need to keep it under $3000.

I built my current system back in 2012. Its an ASUS Crosshair V Formula with an AMD 8120 @ 3.1 Ghz, with 16GB RAM and a GeForce GTX970, on a 750W PS. All housed in a CoolerMaster HAF932 full sized tower.

I’d like to reused the tower if possible.

I’ve been looking at the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, but wondering if its really the right choice???

Also looking at the ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E…. again, not sure if this is the best way to go???

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated !
