I hate to say this but my Aero seems to have a tiny defect, a little black spec on the right side of the left display. I guess dead pixels, it seems bigger than 1 pixel. Not always noticeable depending on the background color, but now that I’ve seen it I can’t unsee it. closing the right eye it becomes more apparent because the 3d view is a combination of both I sometimes don’t notice it for brief time.
Edit:
I posted on the Varjo discord and it sounds like if I send the image I captured with my phone they willl send me a replacement as it looks like a little piece of dust behind the lens.
Really glad that they stand behind their product, gives me good confidence.

Varjo support is amazing, they already shipped me a replacement that will arrive today!
1000 watts is plenty, I have an 850 watt with a 3090 and it’s fine. The important thing is how it is connected. Do you have two separate cables powering your 3090 from the power supply or is it a single cable with a splitter that then goes into the second cable slot?
when I received my prebuilt they only used a single cable with a splitter and my computer would periodically go black and restart itself. Putting in the second cable fixed it completely and I haven’t had a reset in over a year.
It looks like my 3090 has 3x 8pin connectors but only 2 cables, 1 is split, so maybe I need another cable to give it more power to solve the occasional blackouts.
So how is it? I currently have a Samsung Odyssey. How big of a step up is it? Is it mind-blowingly awesome?
I’m running a 5800X CPU and a 6900XTXH GPU. They should be enough to drive it.
So, I need to get the headset, base stations, and the touch controllers. Anything else?
EDIT: I was just watching the video you linked. He says AMD GPUs are not supported. How is that possilbe?
I’ve never tried the any other headsets than my G2 and now my Aero, so I don’t have a frame of reference for other headsets,
All I can say is coming from the G2 it is a major upgrade, the clarity and the colors bring it to a new level for me. I am very happy to have it and wouldn’t go back.
Yeah bummer about the AMD thing.
So far I am very pleased with the Aero but have been dragging my tail getting around to testing in MSFS 2020. I have to set one of my controllers back up, well that is my excuse anyway lol. Hope to get to testing it here in the next day or two.
I just couldn’t believe it either. I was about to order it when revealed then, I stumbled on this “requirement”. I would understand if AMD did not have the horsepower but we all know it’s not the case.
Pretty pathetic.
Aero is, imho, on a whole new level of VR that has not been seen before. I have put a lot of hours into it the last few days and am still just astounded by it. I can’t see anything else coming close to this for some time. Only way I could see to make it better would be the same image clarity with a bit better overall FOV. While maintaining the same performance.
It’s already available (but not in stock) at some retailers in some countries, SystemActive in the UK for instance, there are more worldwide, so they are already indirect sales.
Well I got MSFS 2020 all updated now. As I suspected I have to do some re-assigning of controls thanks to my Virpil CM3 throttle changing device id’s with a recent firmware flash. Will try and finally get some flying in with the sim and my Aero sometime tomorrow.
Have I mentioned how much I dislike the controller setup for this sim? I really really do.
