New Webstore Coming?

Some of you guys may have seen some of the crazy 3d-printed parts I’ve put up on the board in the past few months.

Well, hey, kids. It’s me, Kev. I’ve got some news. But shhhh, don’t tell anybody.

If everything goes according to our plan, we may actually be officially open for business sometime this week or next week. It will be with but a single part, designed by our amazing designer from the land of Slovenia, but every journey begins with but a single step.

EDIT: The TBM controller shown below is NOT the “single part” that we’ll be opening our doors with, though it will likely follow very quickly. I explained this in more detail in my post below, please see that for a fuller explanation, and sorry for any confusion.

This is likely to be among our first products, but before you get too excited (as I am), this is going to be a phased approach, so availability will be very limited at first. But that’s because we’re far more interested in doing it right than doing it fast. Have you ever seen one of these before in the MSFS peripheral world? No, neither have I.

And, it works as you can see here.

More to come, so stay tuned!

Kev

Another EDIT: The store is OPEN! The website address is 3dparts.biz. Should you have any questions or issues, please email me at kevykevtpa@gmail.com.

Just to clarify, the “single part” I mentioned that we may be opening with is NOT the TBM controller in the pic. That one may come shortly thereafter, in a phased approach as I outlined, but the single part I referenced, while we have not finalized it, will be something very simple. A throttle that looks just like a Cessna or Piper one, something along those lines. But it will cost a fraction of what the TBM part will cost, and rightfully so. The TBM controller contains hundreds of dollars worth of parts you can’t even see, whereas the “single part” is a simple piece of printed plastic, that is very useful, and I expect it to be very popular, but in terms of complexity, it’s got nothing on the TBM throttle, and will be priced accordingly.

Sorry for any confusion.

Kev

On EDIT: Thanks for the kind words, we’re pretty excited about how things are looking. I almost put our web address in the OP, but we’re not QUITE ready for that just yet. Soon, but not yet. But I hope when the time comes, you guys put your wallets where your kindness is, and start buying parts, especially as we expand to be hundreds of times larger (in terms of product offerings) than the one we’re starting with. Assuming, of course, that everything works out in the first place, and we actually open our doors as we hope to.

That looks very professional indeed.

This is probably going to be that “single piece” that we open the doors with. It’s designed for a Honeycomb Bravo, but that won’t be the only thing(s) we’ll be doing, which you can already see in the stand-alone TBM TQS.

Amazing work by my designer, @Kremps666, he is an absolute genius. Still have some testing to do to make sure the prints come out to my standard, and I won’t put my reputation on anything that isn’t of absolute top quality. If/when it meets those tests and standards, our shingle will be hung.

Wow! So cool. Congrats on this!! Can not wait to your stuff is available. Definitely will try it out, especially from a fellow simmer. Nice job👍

@mrjlube Thank you so much! We will probably be open in an hour or three, but with just one product for sale. For NOW! Eventually we’ll have hundreds, maybe even more. I’m gonna hold you to that “try it out” promise lol…

Will do! Definitely excited to try and excited for you and your new adventure!

Have you gone into partnership with DIY Beyond 3D? (Aka cmdr_kremps on r/hotas DIY)?

That guy is indeed a very talented designer and his TBM 930 stuff is just the tip of the iceberg, his helo collective looks pretty cool too.

@somethingbrite Yes, sir, we have. And his collective is something that will be in the store eventually, too. But we have a motto… Crawl, Walk, Run, and One Thing at a Time.

We have so many different things happening at once that we use that motto, which I’m going to have put on our wall if it ever gets to the point that we have physical offices. Since our business involves physical product produced by 3d Printers, once it outgrows my home, physical offices will be a necessity, but if that happens, it’s because we have the real time business to support it, so paying for those offices will no longer be a financial concern.

We also both share an incredible customer care and service ethic. I will not put my name on a product that isn’t as perfect as it can be. I would sooner reprint something, along with the financial hit it takes to do so, even if it makes the total deal unprofitable, than just put poor product out on the street with my reputation on them. In fact, despite the fact that we’re not even formally open for business yet, we have taken a few tiny orders, and we did do a reprint on one of them because of a minor cosmetic defect.

That is how much attention we pay to detail.

And yes, “cmdr_kremps” (that’s a new one for me) is a genius level designer. In fact, I usually tack an extra word in front of “genius” when discussing that, but this board doesn’t like that particular word. Just looking at the gears as they come off my printer, one piece at a time, and the way they look and function like a fine Swiss watch, proves to me just how far his genius runs.

I’m quite pleased to be getting into this venture together with him.

And just so he knows we’re talking about him… hey @Kremps666- We’re talking about you!

Kev

Can someone tell me what direction you see the control handles going when you click on my site? I’m seeing it one way and my designer is seeing it a whole different way and we’re trying to troubleshoot. Thank you!

Kev

Here’s a design challenge that could also help a lot of lesser able virtual pilots.

Obviously for a number of reasons not everybody can use rudder pedals or even a twist axis joystick grip. It seems there may be a modest gap in the market for some sort of hand activated rudder axis device.

It seems to me that if you are teaming up talented design and the ability to manufacture into a wholesome bundle that this might be something you can take a look at.

@somethingbrite Um. Martin, my official answer is “No Comment”.

But off the record, something like that may be in the works. Not by me, of course, I don’t do design, but by somebody, somewhere. Maybe in Europe?

BTW, Martin, I don’t know if you know it, but I am one of those people. I use a stick out of duress because my legs don’t work right, and I can’t use rudder pedals. But a yoke with that functionality??? Take my money, please!

Oh, wait…

Hi! Uros here from DIY Beyond 3D.
This kind of Yoke with rudder functionality, for disabled simmers, has already been in my head for a long time and I actually presented it to KevyKevTPA yesterday
So expect something soon in that department.

And thanks for all your kind comments
