Looks like I will have to get a new one. I have an old eclipse yoke. What would be some options? Money is not a problem, but I would not say I was a serious flyer, just GA, as I can’t do multiple engines with my throttle, and a couple of hours per day.
I researched Honeycomb, but it seemed stock and supply was an issue, plus how old are they?. Also if I am going to spend now, maybe there is something new just around the corner.
Thanks
Allan
Sorry should add, I am PC, and would be happy to upgrade my rudder pedals at the same time, as they are also vintage. And maybe a new throttle. I don’t even know what brand I have, it was given to me. Really nice firm throttle movement, with propeller and mixture , then a heap of switches on the right. MSFS does not know what to call it.
Heh I have the PFC Cirrus Beech yoke and it’s very good, but yeah, paying for it hurt. It wasn’t anywhere near that expensive when I bought it, though. IIRC I paid around £750 via a UK distributor. Quite how they justify that kind of price increase, I don’t know. Maybe it wasn’t FAA approved back then.
I’ve used a few yokes and almost without exception, they have plastic handles - and heavy plastic can be fine, and durable - and relatively noisy mechanisms. The PFC is ultra smooth, silent in operation, and has a die-cast metal handle that feels really good in the hand. Never had a problem of any kind with it in the decade+ I’ve owned it. The only reason I’d consider moving to a different yoke now would be force feedback, and if there were a reasonable way to retrofit FFB to the PFC yoke, I would.
Yes. Build quality could be a little bit better, especially the flimsy trim switches wich are fitted very losely. But I’d take over any other yoke again if I had to make that decision. Also, Makes landings easier because you can feel the plane
Brunner uses proprietary software afaik.
XPForce devs have a program for FS2020 (Might be FSForce or just XPForce too)
Provides Ok implementation with quite a bit of customization.
