Ok, so we all know that Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Xbox Series X|S, but we might have some more news.
Sim update V is coming around the same time as Xbox launch, but are we going to see a lot of improvement and new things coming to PC?
-Directx 12?
It is pretty possible that the Xbox will launch with the latest Directx version (12). In the trailer, we did see some fantastic reflections on the water and the planes. Does this indicate support for Ray tracing? If you look closely at the trailer, you will see these stunning reflections.
-Xbox Games Extended Showcase
In the latest showcase at Xbox, Jurg was talking about some huge news for the simulator.
“Land everywhere”
They will add “land everywhere”, so you can land wherever you want, on the water, grass, or even on snow.
Discovery tours
You will be able to jump right into famous places, like Mount Everest, the city of New York, or even Bora Bora.
Possibilities to “learn” more
There will be marks and poi telling you information about that place when you fly over it. You will also be able to see all cities and poi (point of interest) from the map
Flight Assistant
With Flight Assistant, you have a co-pilot flying the plane so you can take a look at the landscape. “Please land me”, you will be able to click at the flight assistant so it will land the plane for you.
60 fps?
Please take a look at the video:
Isn’t that a steady 60 fps? I think they have improved the game a lot with optimizations, and for me, the game looks so smooth.
Please, take your time and discuss your meaning and what you think will come in Sim update V (Xbox launch)
