Next update for FS 24?

Anyone know when the next update is likely to arrive for MSFS 2024?

Apologies, my skill navigating this forum left me with no clear answer.

There is an ongoing open beta test for Sim Update 1.

There have been two releases for the beta so far.

Currently, there is no set date for final release, but the loose schedule is to release four Sim Updates throughout the year, which would roughly translate to one per quarter.

I noted that a “maintenance update” was mentioned for the sim between Sim Updates, so it looks like we will see more updates than just the four major SUs.

You’re not going to find a concrete release date, at this time.

I expect a longer timeframe since nobody can’t even…play? The beta lol

I have been running the beta every day for the last three days, so it isn’t everybody.

It just popped up for some people. Just mentioning it.

Hi @Hero24249829,

There are no current indications to suggest that no users whatsoever are able to load into the Sim Update 1 Beta. The provided link in your post has a small number of users discussing the potential for the flight session to not properly load, which has already been discovered by at least one user to be caused by external NVIDIA filters.

I haven’t used it much to be honest but both recent beta releases were working okay for me, also.

Hi @LagoonOtter,

As @NixonRedgrave has kindly pointed out, we are currently running the open beta for our first Sim Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Whilst we don’t have a confirmed release date for this to be made available for all players, you’re more than welcome to join the beta to test this update as detailed here: Sim Update 1 Beta Now Available - Official Microsoft Flight Simulator / News & Announcements - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

We post all of our announcements when updates release here on the forums in the News & Announcements category, as well as across our social media platforms and website.

We also have a Developer Livestream later today where members of both the Microsoft Flight Simulator and Asobo Studios team give updates on the status of the simulator, alongside taking questions from the community. The livestream will start at 18:30 UTC today here: msfsofficial - Twitch and will be uploaded to our YouTube channel afterwards.

I hope this helps!

Huh? Works perfectly fine on my end. I would know, since I’m using FS2024 exclusively since November. FS2020 is not even installed.

Since the official release was in such a beta state to begin with it’s really a no-brainer to join the beta. I’ll sticking with beta all the way until a solid SU update is released which might be SU5 or so.

Something totally new here, no changes to anything and msfs 2024 loads and stops at 67%… wtf?

It was working for 2 months, did not touch ANYTHING.

In the developer stream yesterday Jorg gives the date 18 febr. But only if all goes right…

Emergency Autoland did not work for me. Plane just flew over the designated airport Almeria (LEAM) coming from LPFR. I think it needed to make a U-turn but didn’t. Started Emergency Autoland 18 minutes before arriving.

There 24,000 users on the Beta currently. It works very well and has resolved a lot of issues.

The new update and market place are set to be put in on Feb 18. If they cant work out the issues fir the marketplace soon they said it will be pushed back to feb 25th

For someone who hasn’t had a chance to digest the last Q&A, did they go into any detail about why we didn’t get the MP at launch?

It wasn’t and still is not ready.

It’s odd because they developed from a base where the MP was ready. What in world have they done to it?! Time will tell.
