This is really odd… I am In UK & Have now finally managed to have a flight after connecting to a Server in Florida via VPN. The first thing that struck me was that I can’t hear any engine noise from any plane after starting the engine. ATC & Environmental effects seem to work fine! I have checked volume setting in menu’s & checked sound Settings in PC. No problems with MSFS 2020 or any other games for that matter! Any suggestions???

Sorted! Needed to change Flightsimulator2024.exe to Run as Administrator!

Was this stated in the installation instructions? Ridiculous state of affairs.
What about on X Box? We have no sound and cannot use this solution
How is this a solution? If indeed that works it’s a workaround. It’s also a clue as to what is going on perhaps. But we shouldn’t need to run FS as Administror. So a bug needs to be filed urgently. I have yet to hear audio on any aircraft in FS2024.

This works. The workaround is from Ini Forums for aircraft with no sound issues -
Delete the sound folder in the airplane directory, where you encounter the problem. And the problem is solved 
C:\Users\Jeffrey\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\StreamedPackages is the folder in my case for example.
This one specific for the dreamliner, to get it more clear. C:\Users\Jeffrey\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\StreamedPackages\Asobo-aircraft-b787-10\content\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_b787\common\sound
Delete the whole sound folder, or the whole airplane folder. It is safe, as it will just be streamed again and downloaded.
If you have any other problem with the aircraft, I suggest deleting the whole airplane folder.
another option if you are on pc
I went to C:\Users*****\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\StreamedPackages & searched for ALL *.pck files. It found 40, so I deleted them all! I then exited the sim & reloaded. All sounds are back!

I still have this problem today. I can hear everything but the engine.
It is not just the engines but it is also every sound related to the aircraft so all you can hear is just wind
Yes. It is a reoccurring issue with MSFS 2024. You have to delete the PCK files at the end of every session to avoid this issue next time you start the SIM.
