ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? Yes
Description of the issue: No audio can be heard for either the cockpit (switches moving etc) or engine. This may be related to the fact that in Windows Settings>System>Sound>Volume mixer, there are multiple instances of MSFS2024 listed as apps. One of them has its audio set to 1/100, and is greyed out/unable to be modifed. In some instances, I’ve seen up to seven MSFS2024s listed as apps in the volume mixer at any one time, with some of them having a volume of 1 and greyed out (screenshot attached).
I’ve reset and clean installed audio drivers. Does not seem to have an effect.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• YES

• I first noticed the problem in a certificate mission called “High-Performance Authorization” (not sure how it’s translated).

Im experiencing the same audio problems as the OP with engine and cockpit sounds. Also noticed several instances of the game showing up in the sound mixer tab like the OP, one of wich is grayed out and stuck at 1% for volume level. I get all ambient sounds, menu music, UI sounds, ATC voices, passenger voices, just like the OP though, I have no sounds from the cockpit or external views that should be coming from the aircraft, such as the planes engine, switches, tires screaching when landing, etc. I do notice some wind and weather noises but very faint.
To me it seems this bug that makes it show up several times in the sound mixer is the culprit. If I max out the sound on my soundbar thats connected to my PC, then I can start to hear what is the engine I believe, thus making me think the audio thats set to 1 and grayed out needs to be at 100.
Same here, no engine sounds. Wind, rain and birds are ok. Plane from community folder has engine sound!
Win11, Realtek ALC onboard sound, 5.1 analog output.
Ended up borrowing a friends gamepass account and tried the version from the MS Store on my PC, and odly, the sound worked fine on that with the same settings applied as the steam release version. Deleted the entire steam version, save game, etc, and reinstalled it. Set all settings to same as MS Store version and still have no engine sounds at all. Ended up refunding the steam purchase and bought on MS Store.
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged
I have had the exact same issue. No sound at all. No plane, no environment, no music. Even in the main menu or during the loading screen (I suppose there is music there too?).
Multiple instance in the sound manager.
I have Windows 11.
