• Experiencing same. Landing in daytime in fog/socked-in weather and while VASI is visible, runway lights barely at all.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Lights are not switched to on in dark weather too :

Still not fixed yet, Asobo! How can it be so difficult to fix airfield illumination? This is nothing new as did work already in MSFS2020!!

Unfortunately same issue in here. Low visibility and no lights at all

SU4, still the same problem.

The lights might be on however they are at such a low state you can hardly see them.

Badly needed

Same here… no lights during bad weather approach, it’s frustrating.

Sad to say SU5 and nothing has changed here.

Lights are still not visible enough and you can’t fly an approach with minimum weather like this

The daytime lights are lost, making it impossible to fly normally in rainy and foggy weather. Has no one questioned the visibility of daytime lights? For so many years, we have been reproducing the problems of FSX.

Very good question. Does it need a bug report raised with your screenshot to show poor visibility? Good find

I don’t know how to report bugs, but once I post a standalone post using this screenshot alone, it quickly gets locked and merged into a completely forgotten collection.

Welcome to the MSFS forum and tradition of trying to file bug reports, which is probably harder than flying a real airplane.

Regarding bug reports, I would like to see the post in question. Bug report requirements are pretty straightforward. I’ve created dozens.

Posts that get merged into a discussion thread, or moved to user support, are missing key elements and details any SW dev would need to to understand or reproduce the issue. So many reports opened against 3rd party add-ons. That’s a no-no. So many reports open without a clean community folder. Another no-no. So many bugs opened not mentioning details like plane, route, etc… So many bugs opened without a simple screenshot or a video.

We can do better collectively.

Aircraft lights are tied to building lights which are tied to sunset and sunrise which is just madness

This is a major disaster in the field of simulated flight cognition.

IMO, if you’re in a beta you should be prepared to find things that don’t work correctly and make a bug report. If not, it might be best to stay out of beta releases.

As @BigCow74 points out, software developers need certain information to define the problem and what must to be done to fix it. The bug reporting template helps them get that information.

I participate in the beta version and of course have an obligation to report errors, but the errors I report will be treated as complaints, either ignored, merged, locked in comments, or blocked. I have reported this lighting issue countless times, but most of them have been ignored. This is not a very good channel and atmosphere.

Is this true for aircraft lights? This is why runways and traffic have no lights in the daytime?

Yes. In daytime, it’s just a coloured dot and not an actual light source

Folks, a number of posts have been moved into this topic from Sim Update 6 Beta | MSFS 2024

Just a reminder that bug reporting in Sim Update 6 Beta | MSFS 2024 (and, of course, future betas) is either for new bugs or regressions found in the Beta.

Users should provide feedback on existing bugs that are still present in any beta by posting to the appropriate existing bug topic in the Bug Reporting Hub. This keeps all reports about the same bug in one topic and so allows the test & development team to easily view all responses about that bug in a single location, as well as preventing vote-splitting on the bug in question.

Thank you.
