Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
yes
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
Did a few tests, 2/4/2023, approx 8-10am EST:
-
clouds suddenly loaded in after a 10-15 minute delay at KMIA (US east server, FWIW).
-
Clouds did not load in after 15 minutes on the ground at KDEN. In-game METAR 2 days out of date and did not update.
-
no clouds on load-in at KOKC. In-game METAR initially 2 days out of date but updated to current after a couple of minutes. Clouds loaded after about 5 minutes.
-
clear skies at load-in at CYUL. snow and clouds loaded in after ~5 minutes. Initial local METAR was correct.
This definitely smells like a server capacity issue of some sort. A bit odd because things worked really well weather-wise during the entire AAU beta - maybe AAU going official brought more people back than expected? Hope they can get it sorted quick!

Services are online, connected to North America East, Load in to CYUL Montreal as +20C, even though when I tune in to ATIS is says -29C. Also pressing “B” does not sync Altimeter.

How did an update not related to weather break the weather? lol
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Yes. There are no clouds. Visibility appears to be working, and winds. Just no clouds.

I am getting everything but the clouds and snow, when I first start up and enable live weather. The clouds and snow kicks in 5 minutes later. I have rebooted a number of times and everything kicks in after about 5 mintes. Ontario, Canada - East NA server. The only change I made this morning, was, I set my DNS to Cloudflare.

Next observations after while in the air,
did some not longer distance flight, waited for weather loading on Departure airport but after landing it looks to me that weather isn’t functional, especially precipitations and also maybe clouds are not same as are expected due weather from web.
Situation. after landing on LKTB METAR shows few 1299 Broken 3600 snow showers and this is actual:
OAT (0 degC) and QNH 1031, wind looking good to me. And one important thing also, in this case snow coverage also doesn’t work probably, I expect it can be there because of conditions but I don’t know, can’t be sure of course. I see that high pressure but then also think that why precipitations are not presented.
Update: now Broken clouds are here, without precip. Ok, no probl. Very sry to say important, I have this cloud situation now after restart flight so again waited for weather start.
Something is seriously wrong, and I’ve not seen anything quite like this before.
Here’s a screenshot taken at 1522z at Edinburgh airport EGPH:
Here’s the actual METAR right now:
EGPH 041450Z 22013KT 9000 4000NW -RA BKN017 09/07 Q1029
Given the weight of concern flagged in this thread, I think we need a little more than an acknowledge that devs are investigating an intermittent issue. This is a constant and global in-game issue at the moment and surely deserves highest priority?

When I loaded MSFS today it took the sim about 10 to 15 minutes to load the clouds. Since then everything is running fine. I´m located in Germany.
But since the last MSFS update I´m seeing stutters about every 30 seconds. They last for 3 to 5 seconds and disappear again.
Yesterday, when MSFS didn´t load any clouds, there was no stuttering at all.
I´m using the FENIX A 320 with a Varjo Aero and my system is a 13900k/RTX 4090.

Apparently the last update of the sim broke the waether. Seems like the regression testing issues are again plaguing the sim.

If i can say opinion to not start some different discussion here,
I don’t think so because I had yesterday weather functional at 17:00Z till 19:00Z when I closed sim. Also previous days, weeks. I’ve read that some users already reported issues and I had weather functional correctly, yesterday was very special day about IFR and Minimums flying here in Slovakia. Really hard to say but I’ve discovered some new data with METARs on web especially precipitations and maybe this can be some lag but this is only speculation. END.
I was flying yesterday in Bretagne France. The issue was present, no clouds, blue skies. As the Asobo team is enjoing the weekend, we will need to resort to off-line weather for some days.
Of course the extreme wind shifts at cruise are working just fine.

If I sit on the tarmac for 10-15 minutes the clouds will load. I’m waiting for the clouds to load right now. Anyway, the weather may clear again once you get into a different ASOS / METAR territory… so the game may be ingesting but it’s taking forever to load.
Good idea,
but not at my side, I can confirm during my previously reported short flight change of weather without problems. My big mistake was not wait after landing if something will change after longer time. I did flight restart, wait also cca 15min and weather appears and with new situation, +/- same as previously but now I don’t know if it will be changed if I’ll be waiting.
If I could recommend generally, reports about VPN ok/not ok are waste of time.
Did a flight in america last night KLAS to KSAN metar was right clouds were in sky brilliant however doing a flight righ now EGBB to LEAL metar at EGBB was overcast not a cloud in sight! Hopefully gets fixed soon.
