No live weather at all (February 2023)

Yeah I did one flight today from KEWR to KORD. Clear as a bell, no clouds anywhere. Only wind and altimeter. I wanted to do another flight but without weather…forget it.

same here, clear skies, no clouds, no snow but winds and temps are ok. Cheers

Here’s a possible temporary fix:
Start a flight. Then return to the main menu and start the same flight again. This has worked for me three times in a row.

tried that…no luck

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

No live weather at all for several days now. Offline weather is working, as is REX weather. I get either CAVU or a “haze/fog/smoke” scene when I use Live Weather in game. Checking the in-game METAR, it reads several days old (today is the Feb 4th, metar reads 021551z and has not changed for two days). I have run the game with the community folder completely empty, disabled in-game data and restarted, started the sim in “Clear” weather and then activated live weather, disabled Windows IPv6 and restarted, disabled and deleted the in-game rolling cache. Not in DEV mode, but have enabled and disabled it as a test. Started in safe mode and then restarted in normal. Cleared my internet browser cache. I do not run a firewall on my “gaming only” computer. I’ve probably done more troubleshooting that I’ve forgotten to list. here

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Maybe someone knows the cause of the problem, does anyone have a guess?
Is it location dependent?

I hope Asobo will solve the problem, I and certainly a lot of people will not fly without live weather :frowning:

I’m sorry, I thought it was working for me, but the destination I just landed in is supposed to have clouds and I have no clouds. I hope MSFS will fix it soon :slightly_smiling_face:

This doesn’t seem to be a localized issue.
The problem appears to be happening globally on all servers.

Same thing in France, live weather broken, it returns according to certain flights then disappears.

Yes, it is for everyone in the world, I think this is one of the MSFS servers !

Could also be an issue on load balancing for certain regions - Still I personally don’t see much of the issues described and I basically do nothing special. Snow coverage also works as expected over here with my ISP (well, I route my whole internet connection through Google DNS which might make a difference here…).

Still I don’t know about other beta participants but probably something on deployment to one of the live environments gone wrong? I’m on Steam and I was in beta, so I did not receive a new build on the release day as it should be the same version.

Tried that several times, no joy.

My first flight with real weather this afternoon had clouds. My second flight now with real weather shows no more clouds, although it should be overcast.

Now after 10 minutes of flying, the clouds suddenly appeared around me below.

Having the same issue, no clouds whatsoever, I do get enroute winds, etc but no clouds at all.
This is the reason we need a third party weather program, to avoid these type of issues all the time…

Tried all possible workarouonds. No joy. Clouds will be not injected.

Yep same again today. Was like that last night on about 5 hours of bush flying in PNG. :frowning:

Really a bummer.

Btw, I’m here to report that i spawned with clear skies and after 5 minutes an overcast layer of clouds spawned lol
