Live weather seems to be good now, glad its back
I have been flying for about 2 hours and the weather seems good for now
I noticed something different when I did a clean install on Xbox … on the very first set up screen you must choose between Streaming Photogrammetry, and No Streaming … the “No Streaming” says, “need a constant connection for authentication” …
Perhaps that is why it then doesn’t allow turning General > Data > Online Functinality Off, and I’m assuming this is because I have purchased Premium Deluxe (But have yet to test if that is the case).
If I unplug my ethernet cable and disable wifi, and boot MSFS, it does allow offline play (after about 10 warnings) and THEN and ONLY THEN does the General > Data > Online Functionality On/Off switch appear … but as soon as you click it ON again, it greys out. I’m thinking they didn’t really do a GUI flow chart on that process.
Western Europe server, The Netherlands, Rotterdam.
EHRD: Live weather is not really live, it is from this morning. At the moment it is overcast and NO scatterd clouds.
Update:
Live Weather now correct (overcast), timestamp incorrect, and wind incorrect (too strong).
I have had no clouds at all since last Saturday when spawning at my home airport in the US Northeast, but they are working fine today, and METAR is correct and current.
I really like the format of the post regarding online services. The daily updates are informative.
live weather working fine now! ![]()

Cheers
Still working nice!
It could be very clear weather over Central Europe now so I did LGAV-LOWW with B747-8, in LGAV BKN and after leave Greece airpspace clear as stations reports. After reach Vienna nice some little patches with sun going down behind far away ground
Very good feeling. This patches also indicate that clouds are injected also after cca 2hr flight over clear areas.
No clouds for me right now in KSAN, though METAR reports scattered at FL250. Could just be inaccurate though, as weather in much of socal is clear right now. Had accurate clouds and weather for an entire flight from ATL to CVG earlier today.
EHAM-KBOS in real-time – just over Nova Scotia, clouds/snow/etc all look good. Weather was also accurate in EHAM
Good news - - my clouds are back - - bad news, it’s back to volcanic ash clouds.
How you mean ASH CLOUDS?
Update to the situation, Out of 5 times it’s worked correctly and Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Kraków and Brussels, All of them are the METAR from today, So its seems to be working, Atleast today…
Lets hope it will keep working, Once again, I’m expierencing this issue 20 days or so
Rain comes and goes? One feature of MSFS I actually enjoy. Just because it looks like it could rain doesn’t mean it will or in your area. I’ve driven half a street over where there’s rain on one side and dry on the other.
I am currently flying from Halifax International to Gatwick - LIVE PLAYER SETTINGS (which I always flew with) seems all good.
Let’s all hope LIVE WEATHER continues to work for the foreseeable future and beyond!
Soon after the sim released, I was sat at PANC watching a storm roll in. As I sat there I could see the wall of rain coming across the airport, and eventually it got to my parked plane.
Coming from XPlane, that was one of those moments I’ll not easily forget.
Glad you had that experience. Compared to previous sims, we are downright spoiled to the gills. Some times old habits and expectations are hard to break. When the forecast calls for ‘showers’, we actually get that now with off and on rain. So I found it a bit silly in regards to that comment stating there wasn’t any rain after 3 minutes. If one ventures outside their house and has lived long enough they’ll find that to be quite accurate. Gone are the days where rain within FS is either on or off, now we can get one step closer to having more variety.
Flying tonight in the Midwestern US on the Eastern US server, weather is correct and Metars accurate! It’s terrific that the Azure problem appears to be resolved and we can fly with live weather again!! Thank you Asobo and Microsoft!!
However, starting the sim seems to take quite a long time – much longer than it used to. Also, I don’t know whether it’s my Internet or the Azure change, but after or during a flight startup sequence, the “Your bandwidth is too low for data streaming, you have been switched to offline mode” or a similar message about photogrammetry (ignore or turn off) appears. Also, I have lost ATC voices at times. Has anyone else experienced these issues since the potential Azure resolution was announced? It could be it’s just my Internet tonight.
