No more snow textures on runways/taxiways?

Hey Guys,

I never see snow on the apron or the taxiways or runways, even if snow coverage is set to max. Do I miss something? It used to be different until an specific update.

This was removed in March of 2023 with the AAU1 update - at the request of the community:

Get rid of the snow on runways, taxiways, aprons and roads

I just took a couple of test flights following the latest update, and I love the new snow. However, the airports are covered in snow even if it’s not snowing outside. Most airports plow and treat runways/taxiways and aprons during and after snow. So, having snow on these surfaces is very unrealistic. Can we find a way to exclude snow from these surfaces, unless it’s actually snowing? Perhaps we can also exclude large roads and highways too?

This should have been for “Live Weather”, but I’m not sure if they removed it for any custom weather.

Interesting find as I only use live weather.

Absolutely!

Use the Wishlist as this is for community voting for things you’d like to have implemented in MSFS.

Make a new post in the Wishlist and explain that this was removed for Live Weather, but that you wish to have it back as custom weather settings.

There is a wish about decoupling snow:

However, I do not see one about customizing snow for the taxi/runways of which should be a separate custom item.

I guess they also removed snow over the Colorado Rockies. For the past 2 weeks Live Weather shows absolutely no snow on the Rockies. All of the ski resorts look like summertime.
