No wonder VR doesn't get much attention

We often complain that VR users are not getting the attention, we think we deserve.
But when MSobo opens up a threat for us to speak, look at these numbers.

SU2 Beta Survey - Performance PC: 248 votes
SU2 Beta Survey - Performance (Xbox)]: 47 votes
SU2 Beta Survey - Performance (VR): 10 votes (including mine)

If I was MsObo, I would probably pay even less attention to VR.

Come oooon! Go and vote! Raise your voice! Revolt!

Cheers :woman_tipping_hand:

Could also be that many VR folks are staying away from 2024 until forum comments indicate it’s worth purchasing.

Can’t vote on something until I try it, sorry. :man_shrugging:

According to past (outside of MSFS surveys) as well as numbers provided on previous DEV streams. VR users make up a very small percentage of MSFS simmers.

I want to say it was around 10% (don’t quote me though).

Compared to the attention Xbox os getting, 20% of its share should be more than enough

And i did not uet give my VR feedback, as it is still having massive issues that are holding me back from using the sim.
Seeing all the reports of CTD when you close a panel from the toolbar or issues with the readability in panels just make me not want to play.

Unless I see reports that it os working good and stable enough to be worth investing ly precious time, i will keep waiting.

I guess there is a lot of VR isers that are currently holding off starting 2024.

I don’t do the beta releases these surveys are based on.

VR is underrated by those who don’t have it

Flightsimming without VR doesn’t make sense

Have a few headsets for the kids.

Tried a few times on MSFS but losing the tactile feel of all the home cockpit hardware was a deal breaker.

Mixed reality where can see both.

That I would be interested in.

Okay, that makes sense.
I arranged my stick, my quadrant and my pedals right where they are in the airbus, so no problem for me.
Bit when you have more peripherals or ise different aircraft this xan be an annoyance.

But for me the immersion beats any inconveniance.
The inly thing i’d lile to have to make it ā€œperfectā€ would be gloves as controlers with ā€œforce feedbackā€ at click-spots.

That’s what I did, but with a full scale haptic cockpit, so VR visuals but Real haptic interactions. its a blast

But Mixing with passthrough isn’t a problem anymore, basic stuff nowadays and good enough to use an iPad or charts with it

You are right OP. I fly every day and only in VR , I read the forum every day but I don’t participate so much, my fault.
By the way I don’t fly MSFS 2024 because 2020 is still better in performance and stability.

Why 2d users come here to rant, Beats me.
This was supposed to be a call to arms For VR Users.

For VR users.
VR users, Vote!

Because probably people are tired of getting template answers for their problems and not bothering anymore. Ray-marched reflections for instants have been a known bug since the begining of MSFS 2020 and it had been carried to 2024 version with no apparent fixes. These kind of not addressed requests discourage people that’s why you do not see too many people active here…

I remember trying PSVR on my PS4 some years ago and thought it was a load of garbage, leading me to not rate VR much.

I’d like to try the new PSVR2 on my PS5 but I’ve heard that although it is better than the PSVR1 it still has a narrow field of vison where clarity is concerned.

I know the above is nothing to do with FSVR, but if my experience with VR so far is anything to go on, I am not surprised it gets little attention here.

I’m certainly not voting for something I don’t use just to keep VR people happy.

Sorry. I don’t want a headset covering my eyes while fumbling around to manipulate real hardware. It kills the immersion for me.

I dont do beta software with programs that I use frequently. I do log bugs as I see them though, and vote for ones already logged. But I do fly VR 100% of the time, there is no emersion outside of VR for me. I can fly for hours and completely forget that I am sitting in my sim pit in the basement.

Never heard about passthrough huh?
It is tiring to hear the same old concerns for which there are long-standing solutions

This where the Point Control came into its own for me in DCS World - it’s such a shame that it can’t be used in other sims without faffing around with other 3rd party software, but it really is a game changer, too.
Especially for people like me with spinal injuries. Some of the aircraft (especially in DCS) that I had bought didn’t get flown at all, because the start procedure involved flipping controls on the rear bulkhead - even with gaze control and a hat switch for LMB/RMB such things were a real struggle - but Point Control changed all that.

There is a bit of psycho-kidology because in effect it’s just clicking one of three buttons on the finger, but the control over the cockpit along with teh clicking switches etc is way above using VR controllers or reaching for the mouse.

I started VR flying with lots of peripherals and home-made switch boxes etc, and used the nose gap if I was struggling to find something (or to use the keyboard) - but they slowly all disappeared and now my HOTAS/Yoke and VR with Point Control is enough.

sorry for typos - even after eading ā€˜n’ times I still miss them - brain far ahead of fingers!
