Especially with the snow and ice, making it worthwhile to go flying around the northern latitudes, we really need auroras to complete the experience.

Hopefully this is just waiting for the new effects system. Previous MS FS versions had it so the code for how and when to render it should still be in there, just needs a new way of visualizing it.

Yes we shall see . Itās definitely worth having in the sim and when this comes out I think will be so beautiful at night in both of our hemispheres

In time Iām sure it will come as of now there are certainly many more projects that they need to address but yes look forward to the lights when they do come

I agree it was the first thing that came to mind since day 1 . It would look great at night to see these lights on a flight .
Since the next world update will be the nordic, I think itās a good timing for the northern lights to come!

more spectacle & nice touches that capture the magic of night time.
Northern lights sure would be a very nice addition to the night experience.
I was browsing existing ānightā topics for suggesting a light effect on top of plane but put it in a more relevant topic for that light effect: Unrealistic Sun and Moon - #3 by TripsyTipsy .Northern lights always nice find though. Can create moments where you are amazed,like iāve ben with certain cloud formations already in my travels.

I agree and the night lighting will be getting some improvements. This sim will look awesome with some nice northern and southern lights no doubt . It was the first thing that came to mind when making this topic and vote from the release! Until it happens , enjoy your flights!

Hi, I too am a night sky fan.
I donāt think they put too many stars when the night is perfectly dark. It should be left as it is.
The only problem is when itās not completely dark, or near cities (light pollution should obscure many stars). You can see the stars much too early at dusk, or when the Moon lights up the sky well (I think the Moonās lighting is great though!).

Thanks yes they did see it and itās on the radar I believe they mentioned this topic in one of the twitch streams looks like it may be planned for 2022 as of yet that I know of .

Hopefully this will be implemented, this is actually something that in a sim like this which is very sky related needs and is a must.

2 weeks ago i found found this video on youtube.. How does he make the Aurora Borealis? Looks pretty nice and I dont think is create in post production, when he edit the videoā¦ What do you think?

Yeah thatās been edited nice vid though . We are in the works for being planned this year .
