Nose Wheel Steering Locked (NW STRG DISC)

After update 7 I have had random failers, (I have not got any failers set) This morning I had an ECAM message saying that I have Nose Wheel Steering Locked (NW STRG DISC) FBW has suggested that I remove any third party add on push back software, I have none and have double-checked in community folder. Just to add to this, I got both NG displays fail just 4 miles out from landing. I am using developer mode in the FBW and have just made sure it’s using the latest update. I have checked my control set-up, and nothing is different there, any ideas or help would be appreciated

Topic was moved to #third-party-addon-discussion:aircraft category, as the issue was not reported for stock aircraft.

This means, that the pushback truck is still connected to your plane (respectively the ramp agent didn’t remove the steering pin).

OK, and what do I have to do now? I am using GSX for pushing back. Please help

You need to start the engines, then press F12 and confirm the good engine start. The tow truck will be disconnected and the man (or woman) on the ground will remove the bypass pin and set clear the wheels. The NW STRG DISC message will disappear.

The same happens to me for more than 4 days…F12 just takes snapshots…As for installing FSUIPC7 for fixing the problem I am not sure what to do with it:) The fact is that I am grounded for good…

Make sure that the default pushback system (accessed through the default ATC panel) is not active. I had this issue a while back when I was using GSX to push back and after the push I found I could not turn with my tiller. The GSX tug wasn’t connected anymore (and since GSX overrides the default tug I couldn’t see that it was in fact connected to my plane). I only found out that there was a tug connected by going into the in-sim ATC and ending pushback there. Weirdly though: this only happens in the Asobo 787 and 747, including Horizon Sim and Salty enhancements. With the Fenix or PMDG or even the Headwind A330, everything is buttery smooth and just fine on pushback. Something Asobo should look into.

Thanks for trhe advice Dave! But I have installed GSX PRO and after pushback they ask if engines are working good and when you say yes, they remove the pin from the wheel and the A320 is ready to go

Is that the Asobo A320 or a 3rd party one?

Aye it’s the Asobo as far as I see

It may have an issue then, since I have numerous 3rd party addons and don’t experience this issue with them. I only get this problem with the Asobo 787 or 747, but it does carry over to planes that use the core Asobo systems i.e. the Horizon 787-8/-9 and the Salty 747-8.
