November 20, 2025 Development Update Blog Discussion

Check out the latest Development Update Blog here:

Please use this thread for feedback and discussion. Thank you!

Was hoping for some much needed, highly anticipated Black Square and Just Flight updates this week.

The feedback snapshot lost all purpose with all the already fixed bugs just occupying much of the list. Absolute shambles. These “development updates” have become aimless, I’m sorry to say. And I have no trust anymore that further bug fixes will be worked on in the future. The one year anniversary is just a sad reminder of what a disappointment this journey has turned out to be.

But I’m sure the team is more excited for PlayStation users now, because they’re a new audience who will probably complain less, so it’s better to invest in them instead of trying to claw back the Xbox (and to some degree, the PC) community.

The unthankfullness of some users here are just terrible.

I am using msfs since its 95 Version and i think msfs24 is great.

Cant wait for SU4.

Thanks for the work!

Also the amount of third party add ons is great. And you see that the developers like msfs24.

But its always the same that the lower number of angry, unthankfull people is louder, so you might think its the majority. But they arent. And the dont speak for the majority

Well - I am using msfs since the original FS1 way before MSFS 95. Maybe you are not invested in the Marketplace so that it does not really affect you. What it has to do with the release of SU4 is beyond my comprehension.

It is not that I am unthankful - but there are some of us, that made a trustful decision in msfs2020 to become highly add-on invested (and I am literally talking thousands of dollars or euros, whatever currency you may have) in the in-sim Marketplace in terms of purchases because fundamentally it would make sense to have the whole sim in one eco-system i.e. I do not what to have multiple accounts, installer apps and updaters etc. on my system - I do not want to spend time with other apps and checking for updates etc. if it can be avoided. I bought the Blacksquare Duke bundle from Simmarket, and it is actually a drag having to check, download installers having that bloat the registry and keeping product codes etc - I would rather be flying in the sim than spending hours maintaining my installation of hundreds of add-ons.

It is a very good system if it would receive the required maintenance - but it is simply not the case. Maybe from devs as well. Example Digital Designs ULLI - a great rendition of this airport where I personally like to fly because I have very real life experiences in this location and it was published just before release of 2024 - the developer has updated it for msfs2024 externally a long time ago - but in the Marketplace, it is simply remains completely deactivated although other airports by the developer have been released. I paid a lot of money for the product which is fair, yet I can not use my investment in msfs2024 - which is extremely unfair.

I have also upgraded every product to the msfs2024 version that offered this through the upgrade purchase option and I am happy to do so. Some devs have used this opportunity and have been rewarded for doing so.

I also do not mind at all to wait for a reasonable amount of delay - but this is simply not the case - it is taking too long for not only new but especially updated stuff to become available.

So the argument above has nothing to do with not being thankful for development of MSFS. It has nothing to do with that. But there is no excuse for negligence towards the Marketplace platform.

The thing that irks me is the no repro issue. It seems like those just sit there endlessly. We never know whether they are retested again and again. It worries me they will just end those reports despite forum threads and that they are bug- logged.

I would prefer a fixed bug list to be placed elsewhere to reduce the number of listed problems to a more reasonable list to view.

I am also not sure why the Vixxen never made it to the MP despite the dev suggesting it would be there today.

Despite the many issues that remain in this sim, I am fully invested in it and will be happy to grow alongside it.

While the multiplayer mode is useless because other aircraft disappear after barely 300 meters, while the drone camera is now more limited than it was at the beginning, while some planes have become unmanageable because of Sim Update 3 and still haven’t been fixed, while ships appear in all kinds of ridiculous ways — sometimes stacked on top of each other with half their hulls out of the water — while aircraft land or take off along taxiways at major airports and skid across the grass, while the very limited ATC doesn’t show any improvement since FS 2002, the development update keeps listing dozens of fixes like “rare crash in very specific conditions” that nobody has ever seen.
But the things that actually ruin the experience? Not a single one gets fixed. And I’d almost dare say that, as has happened before, the next update will break things that still work.
I don’t even know why I bother looking at the development report anymore — it only focuses on fixing issues nobody has noticed. It’s infuriating!

Come on, the improvements since launch day (and even the months thereafter) are night and day! Across aspects: performance, stability, features, settings..

Yes it’s not perfect and from what I hear career mode is still a shambles, but it’s the best we’ve got! It’s become better than FS2020 for me, and that the only metric that truly matters to me. I actually refunded FS24 and held off for a long time until it improved.

Of course, this may be different for others depending on use case / playstyle. While there continue to be issues, i think the overall trend since launch has been positive, if a little slow.

This has been a long standing thing in MSFS for the last 5 years. No developer wants to release something brand new on the Marketplace the week before United States Thanksgiving, because then people will want a deep discount on Black Friday. The week before Thanksgiving is always pretty void.

I don’t know, usually new products are excluded from sales. I would think most people understand that. Miltech’s A-1 Skyraider is coming out and I certainly wouldn’t expect to get that on a discount.

Error in the first slide. CU21

They usually are. But for the last 5 years, developers have seemed reluctant to release products the week before Black Friday. You can go through prior years blogs the week before Black Friday and see there have been a lack of products. There is historical data, no need to take my word for it.

Update: Thursday’s batch of Marketplace releases which were delayed yesterday are now available. We have updated the blog post with this information. Once again, we apologize for the delay.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

I think at least the B707 & Pipistrel are not new in FS2020 but more likely they have been updated. Maybe the same applies for others aircraft on this screenshot.

The four non-gliders here are Famous Flyers/Local Legends that have received updates (exciting!) and the glider is a 2024-default aircraft that got updated in 2020, I believe.

In 2005, I used to play FS2004 with a friend. His plane could be seen from miles and miles away. When I played solo, the ATC was practically the same as it is now. The planes took off and landed on the runways, didn’t crash into each other on the taxiways, and didn’t do anything weird.
Of course, the current FS2024 looks stunning. Of course, it’s a much more ambitious product. Of course, it offers many more possibilities — that’s why I bought the Premium Deluxe version. But there are things that worked better 21 years ago.

That the plane of the person I’m flying with disappears at less than 400 meters away is simply unacceptable. For me, it completely invalidates the multiplayer experience.

No word on the Greenland blue square bug, No word either about the pink textures for deluxe airports #2020

The 2024 MP sale is primarily a MScenery, Captain Sim and Bredok sale. Very few other options.
