I like that they have discrete timelines for fixes and things likely to be in those patches. As someone critical of communication this is definitely an improvement imo.
I hope some of those “other fixes” include fixes for the various practically-game-breaking VR bugs (broken Toolbar, not being able to click anything in the cockpit 90% of the time, broken EFB, buggy reset cockpit view). Performance increase would be nice too while we’re at it
the clouds/weather quality has been degraded, as textures quality as well. What is happenning ?
Funny, the same thing is happening to me! When I look in the mirror, I seem to have degraded since 2020.
The link to the new screenshot thread in the blog is not working (thread is private I guess). I only clicked it because I wondered how many bug-related screenshots might get posted as we consider 2024’s “new beginnings” in the last week
After the launch troubles, I’m greatly impressed - despite a few daft issues that have crept in. Two steps forward, one back. It’s going to get better.
Thanks, fixed now.
Ugg. Another blog release day landing on a holiday. Always looking forward to see new stuff.
“All paid products will return in the future” - please define how long that will be? We finally got most items transferred over and now taking them away again. Uggg
When will 2024 marketplace open for new items ? By Christmas?
Shame nothing about the blurry ground textures, that when added to the numerous expected bugs after an initial release, make this sim redundant when it is such a downgrade on 2020.
I hope VR isn’t ignored with these patches because it’s clear the VR validation on some of your aircraft (not all) wasn’t done at all, it took me 2 mins in each aircraft to find major bugs that prevent a functional flight
How is it going with the mouse issue? Any updates for when it will be playable for us who have this issue?
Hoping for updated 2020 and new 2024 feedback/bug snapshots with next week’s development update.
Fair enough, pretty much every I have spoken to and many many people on various discords say the ground textures are much less sharp then 2020, but genuinely happy that for you, at least, they are good.
Though of course it is hard to tell from a screenshot, they do look less sharp than I see on 2020 on that shot.
Still no word on when we can locally install stuff instead of streaming it. This is something we were told we would be able to dobefore release and was pivotal in my choice to purchase despite my hesitations overa streaming based sim.
They tend to talk about things like these in their Q&As, and they just haven’t yet had one for 2024.
Oh yeah. Next week I think
This is probably PC though, right? Xbox users have been dealing with the blurry texture problem a lot more
The blurry textures issue is quite a mystery, as several folks who say they are experiencing it seem to be experiencing other things.
A lot of the issue seems tied to TLOD settings, the higher the better.
While others seem to be downloading low res textures or incomplete data. Sometimes it seems the MS servers are throttled and no matter how good your connection, MS may not use much of it. This seems worst at peak hours. Giving textures a bit more time to load can help.
While still others seem to just be struggling to adjust to the changes in the graphics engine, dwelling on one perceived loss and ignoring the 100’s of improvements.
Then Xbox is crippled by low LOD.
So it really is a mystery, because it is hard to pick through who is complaining for one reason rather than another. There are many sources for this issue, but they are all being lumped into the same general complaint.
I have been going back and forth between 2020 and 24 on Series X all week. While Xbox is constrained especially on draw distance, detail appears better in 2020 than 24, albeit at the same constrained draw distances. This is most concerning, especially since I have a very fast, hard wired, ethernet/internet connection with no air gaps at all from wireless anything in the way. PC users seem to be having a much better ride, which on the face of it is no surprise, but 24 was thought to be tailored to the console crowd and to perhaps unlock the capability of Series X. I just have not seen this yet in any respect, even today with the add-ons no longer streamed!
