NVIDIA 466.11 drivers released (MSFS VR fix included)

works well for me too with 1080TI et HAGS off.
before, I had with the 457,30.
and this one works well for me.
anyway we’ll always have + or - stuttering.

Probably Microsoft who miss something with the HAGS feature (like the GameMode one), not the whole bunch of people having so many random result with it IMHO. I need to test switching it OFF to test if it make a difference now. It was better ON for me not long ago so it still ON currently.

Finally some good news for my trusty 2070SUPER, for the fist time since driver 457.30 a new driver is performing the same, no massive stutters or lags, lovely smoothness and FPS the same as well. All previous drivers in-between were “bad” in the sense that they stuttered like crazy but not this one, I’ve yet to Fly normally outside of benchmarking so that will be the proof in the pudding.

the new driver works very well for me. i have a 2080 Super and my frames went up from around 36 to above 40. Everything is smooth

I have a 2070 as well and run 457.30. Since the performance with the new 466.11 appears to be about the same, is there any point in switching? From your graphs, it doesn’t appear to be that beneficial.

If you play any other (new) games it might make sense. Also some other software might benefit from it.

As above only if you play other games, if not then these drivers are essentially identical so little point if MSF is your only game/sim.

Having now done a few short flights my Average FPS appears to be very slightly higher, smoothness exactly the same as 457.30.

Good news. It’s HAGS/GAMEMODE off?

I have small newbie question. What is better. DCH or Standart driver?

Edit: Found answer on nVidia site. Sorry guys…

What is the difference between NVIDIA Standard and DCH Display Drivers?

Functionally, there is no difference between NVIDIA’s Standard and DCH drivers. While the base core component files remain the same, the way DCH drivers are packaged and installed differs from previous (Standard) drivers. When directly comparing the two driver types, the DCH driver package has a smaller size and a faster installation time than the Standard package.

2080 super here; sticking to 457.30 - the new one (hags on/off no difference) black areas in my headset when turning my head. Not good… (for me at least)

Both Off on my system

Is it worth understanding which VR platform folks are using that report good/bad performance compared to 457.30. Eg Rift/steamvr, G2/WMR, etc.

Seems it’s no longer related to 2xxx series vs 3xxx series, given what I’m reading above.

Are you using some utility to gather this data? I would like to do the same

For me is the new driver (466.11) a little bit better than 457.30. But only with HAGS off. My rig: 10700k, 32 GB, 2080 Super.

Benchmarking tool called CapFrameX

I tried installing this driver, and after loading VR in MSFS everything looked super dark and washed out. Anyone else experience this? Switching back to 437.50 made everything look brighter again.

Good morning,
For me, 466.11 is the first Driver I´ll keep after 437.50. Performance seem to be as good as the old driver. I use the NVIDIA control panel settings from Cpt.Lucky8 and have an i9 9900K@4.9GHz and a RTX 3090, Reverb G2.

Controlpanel
Power management: Maximum
Low latency mode: on
Texturefiltering: on

Sim: OXR 80 with Motion smoothing On and TAA100 in the sim

I´ve had that a few times even with the old drivers (Reverb G2). It seems to be a bug. just cancel VR and activate it again.

Just to quote myself, I did a few short flights last night over varying levels of detail and all was smooth with no stutters or prolonged slow downs. So this driver is at last the one that stays installed.

Even jut hitting Escape 2 times (Sim->Menu->Sim) fix it usually. And I still have this problem from time to time with latest 466.11 drivers.
