I got it to work in 2020 with dx11 dlss dlaa mode i got 100 to 110 fps at big bear airport at 4k ultra up from 80 to 90 fps in taa. In vr which is where i use dlss mostly i get 72 fps in dlss quality up from the low 60s. Vr headset is reverb g2. Im on win 11 23h2 using 9800x3d and 4090.
So I’ve been in MSFS 2024 beta all day… no issues, performance is great.
However, getting constant CTDs in MSFS 2020 on my 4090; assuming it’s the latest Nvidia driver.
Has anyone got MSFS 2020 to work w/ latest Nvidia driver and updated DLSS overrides?
Make sure you clear all caches including rolling cache if used. Also check if problem is with Community folder addons. I found also that Map Enhancement Tool, for example can cause problems with driver updates. Might need to start with a fresh version of the FS20, try repairing first.
I’ve been running 572.16 since yesterday. Did a flight without SU1 beta… doing another currently with SU1B2.
Driver seems stable.
I haven’t been playing around with the DLSS settings. Just left at whatever is stock in MSFS.
No Nvidia App, just the Nvidia CP.
OK, will try deleting cache. Just feels like several have had issues w/ this latest Nvidia driver (on FS2020…. 2024 works just fine for me)
For me , choosing "latest " for the DLSS profile into the NVIDIA app changed the DLSS profile from J to K ( I had previously used tweaks)
This information can be displayed into the sim by adding the following Windows registry key (in hexadecimal) :
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore]
“ShowDlssIndicator”=dword:00000400
Per usual, you are correct. I got constant CTDs in MSFS 2020 after updating Nvidia app w/ latest driver and latest app… and just uninstalled Nvidia app and now MSFS 2020 works fine.
Such a waste of a day (should read more messages above! Haha)
FYI : using “DLAA” along with the DLSS Super Resolution setting will trigger only the AA part of DLSS , i.e AA at 100 % render resolution without other processing
The DLSS indicator would display : (3824x2118 → 3824x2118) instead of (2118,1228 → 3824, 2118) (the latter is “balanced” mode with DLSS Super Resolution setting)
Someone wrote that you reinstalled 566.14 because there was a bug in 572.16, but if I just install 566.14 without installing 572.16, will I not be able to get the latest DLSS model using Nvidia Profile Inspector?
You can use 566.14 but you will have to manually do it - not with Geforce app which isn’t that helpful right now anyway - someday it will be
I found its not even worth the hassle just use TAA way better if you have a decent graphics card
Just go to youtube for install DSLL files manually - theres some good videos there today on the subject - just disregard the Geforce app switch for DLSS
My latest model can be selected, but “super resolution” is greyed out. Any solutions?
I thought that Direct X version should be set to DX 12 , but it appears to work with Direct X 11 (not sure if it works too for DLSS frame generation , only know that HAGS must be enabled into Windows graphics settings for this one)
You might try to reinstall your graphic driver (I am using the latest : 572.16)
Happy to help.
Until NVIDIA fixes the application, please check what happens if you select DX12 instead of DX11 in MSFS 2020 settings or by manually editing cfg file.
To do this, you need to edit usercfg.opt
file and modify the line
PreferD3D12 0
Change the number 0 to 1 and save the changes.
Launch MSFS 2020 and check if it is using DirectX 12.
If it’s set to DX12, continue to the next step. If not, switch to DX12 and restart MSFS 2020.
Then, install NVIDIA app and restart PC.
After the restart, do not make any changes in the NVIDIA App - simply launch MSFS 2020 and check if the game starts correctly.
If everything works, you can exit to the desktop and start testing NVIDIA app settings.
If you decide to roll back to the older driver version 566.14 (which I recommend), you only need DLSS Swapper to replace MSFS DLSS files with the latest ones. There’s no need to mess around with NVIDIA Profile Inspector or the buggy NVIDIA app.
edit
However, I think you might still need NVIDIA Profile Inspector to select profile J or K.
Thank you. I also learned how to revert if there is a problem with 572.16.
The DLSS item did not appear in 566.14 and Nvidia Profile Inspector.
It works well with 572.16 and the operations as instructed.
msfs2024 5800X3D 64GB RAM 3080ti VR OXRTK used Pico Neo3 Link DLSS Qualty maintains almost 45fps.
Compared to the previous DLSS, there is less blurring and smearing, and there is no flickering in the distant TAA, which is clearly better.
Previously, 45fps is maintained near the ground, even in places where it would drop to around 30fps.
So far, there are no problems with 572.16.
I am still wondering why you are recommending this. It seems to work fine if the proper instructions are followed and the Nvidia app is removed.
My experience (310.2.1 and profile K) coming from TAA with a 3070 in FS24 has been a mix of sensations: on one hand, I have achieved better performance in Quality mode and I have even noticed less VRAM consumption compared to TAA (from 90% to 85% or even less in the same scenario with the same conditions) and indeed the ground textures look sharper.
The problem is ghosting. It remains. I see videos of users with 4k who have effectively gotten rid of it, but my experience at 1440p is that it persists. If anything, the improvement is slight. But for “serious” sessions with a G1000, it is a hell to select the altitude, the vertical speed, the frequencies, etc. Anything that involves modifying small numbers makes using DLSS very uncomfortable (sometimes frustrating). DLAA is much better, but I have noticed since the last versions, not only with this one, that the performance is the same or worse than TAA.
I have not used the Nvidia app at any time, I have only applied the driver and the changes using DLSS Swapper and Nvidia Inspector. Therefore, I have not seen anywhere the possibility to activate the super resolution that everyone is talking about. I hope that at some point it will be possible to do it through the control panel or Nvidia Inspector.
Since the latest Nvidia driver update, the FPS display in MSFS no longer shows any values. Instead, I get “IPS N/A.” Before the update, the FPS counter was working fine.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

what to do now, fresh install of TINY 11 MS Store version, 24h2, i believe dlss is causing this issue, how to fix it?
got an beta update this morning and dlss files where replaced by old ones again
