DX11 is no option for MSFS2024.
For testing purposes, I installed a new driver along with Nvidia app. After the installation, I launched Nvidia app and disabled game optimization and the Nvidia overlay. Then, I started MSFS 2020, where DX11 is selected in the settings.

CTD still occurred during the loading process of MSFS 2020 if Nvidia app is installed.
I don’t think so! If you fly aircraft with glass cockpit you’ll notice the ghosting on the numbers. Look at the fluctuation in airspeed and power settings it’s very noticeable on the PFD.
Where did I say that it was?
I switch this afternoon to the DLSS 310.2.1 files and also from DLAA to TAA in MSFS2024.
The rest of the settings are the same as before.
Now 100% ghosting free, but the frame rate dropped somewhat to avg. 40/50 fps on ground and 65/75 fps in air.
I still fly most of the time in MSFS2020 because the performance is so much better.
The issue is the already known audio crackling likely occurring to VR users only like me. People who claim to have no problem with the driver 99% are in pancake mode (no VR).
I’m with the beta version of FS24 but nothing changes upon reverting to stable.
If disabling fauna in the MSFS 2024 settings helps, then it’s probably not a Nvidia driver issue …
I went ahead and tested , 572.42 in VR, disabling fauna does indeed fix the issue of low FPS and audio stuttering in VR.
Note, i did revery back to 566.x. I imagine the fauna this is not the only issue with 572.x, so i’ll just wait for future updates
Im still using the hotfix driver 572.24 in vr with no issues.
I confirm also. That is why i uninstalled nvidia app and run with 572.16 driver (win11, dx11, rtx4090)
572.42 is a fail for me, causes multiple issues with my stable NVidia Control Panel settings that work fine with 572.16 (also using DLSS4 in MSFS/WRC, FSR3+FG in Starfield).
Reverted to 572.16 and issues are gone. Just like that!
Maybe an issue im having cant get past the loading screens.. im on my 3rd re install but have now deleted the nvidia app
Using the .42 driver now in vr. Copied the dlss files and automatically it select preset K.
Together with ohnespeed oxrtk mod i am now on high/ultra settings with steady 45fps asw.
Did a few long flights on low altitude with the rotorcraft and i behaved stable.
Exactly that what happened to me tonight bottleneck and a sudden banking even on ap
I’ve flown all day today in both FS2020 and ‘24 with the new driver. I did a 2 hour flight in the PMDG 77W from Pacsim’s KSLC to Ini’s KLAX using BATC traffic and had zero issues. Then later on I did VFR flights in FS2024 in the basic Cessna 172 steam guage. First, all around the LA basin, taking off from LAX and working generally north to ultimately land at Orbx’s KBUR. Second, from Orbx’s KSJC all around the South Bay, north along the coast up to the stock auto-gen KOAK. Again, no issues.
Finally, later in the day I decided to bite the bullet and buy DD’s KEWR during the current sale. I loaded in to check performance in the 787-10 in both FS2020 and then again in FS2024. No issues for me in either sim.
I’m not having many issues maybe just a little bit more choppiness when panning around but not much

With latest driver I was having regular freezes and crashes in VR in 2020. I then tried clearing directx cache and this seems to have fixed the issues so far.. so worth a try if you haven’t done it. Quest 3, vr desktop streamer. Windows 11 rtx 4070 ti super
I am back on Driver Version: 566.36 with DLSS 310.2.1 on preset J.
Stable and much better performance on TAA + FG with MSFS2020 and 2024.
The new drivers from Nvidia after the 566.36 version gave me to much problems.
I am dealing with same issue here…frustrating.
Im happy with the 572.24 driver. I keep bumping up the resolution and refresh rate for my quest 3. 2020 has NEVER looked this good. running in VR with 5408x 2912 at 80hz, Im happy. Just as long as I dont get into an Airliner. it always crashes to desktop 3 miles on approach. stupid.
