Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 531.68 Discussion

This is not a long thread, there are just a few people reporting issues. I and many others are not having any problems at all. Please try and keep things in perspective. Use the form I have posted above to report your issues to Nvidia, if you have not already done so.

Well, the craziest thing happened yesterday. So I launched the sim and out of nowhere I got a pop up that the sim needed to be updated. So it downloaded an update which then took me to the loading screen asking for file location. I selected where my original location was, but did not download any further update there.

But now, I get constant CTD when I use nvidia filters.

It’s crazy. Just a day ago everything was working fine with same newest driver and same SU12.

It is possible to download G-Force Experience separately. Has anyone tried a current Nvidia driver and installed an older version of the G-Force experience? The fact that you can choose not to install the G-Force experience and add it later means that one could experiment by mix-and-match. Theoretically when someone finds a G-Force version that works for them, they keep it and add it to the latest Nvidia driver! It should work because when I edit my drivers removing the files I dont want, the G-Force Experience has it’s own folder. Just a thought to ponder on which might give some people more flexibility, it might complicate things too!

Here is a link to older versions of G-Force Experience from Nvidia

Battery Boost 2.0

GeForce Experience now supports Battery Boost 2.0, which extends battery life while gaming by finding the optimal balance of GPU and CPU power usage, battery discharge, image quality, and frame rates. Battery Boost 2.0 has been totally re-architected, using AI to control the whole platform, all in real time. The result is great playability on battery, with up to 70% more battery life. This feature is supported on new laptops with 4th generation Max-Q Technologies.

Reflex Analyzer Automatic Configuration

Reflex Analyzer now automatically configures itself - making latency measurement a 1-click experience and incredibly easy to use. All gamers have to do is plug their mouse into the Reflex USB port on their Reflex monitor and hit Alt + R. Gamers can switch weapons, use weapons without muzzle flashes, and measure latency while they play the game.

The Reflex Analyzer flash indicator is now controlled by GeForce Experience and shown when the performance overlay is enabled. Gamers with a Reflex Mouse can measure full end to end system latency measurements while gamers without a Reflex Mouse can still measure PC + Display Latency.

To use automatic configuration on your Reflex Analyzer display in a supported Reflex game like RIOT’s Valorant, install the latest game ready driver, and jump in!

Boost your Game Performance

  • NVIDIA DLSS is our award-winning AI-powered technology that delivers big performance boosts with maximum image quality in over 100 games. For games and GPUs that don’t support NVIDIA DLSS, we’ve updated our image sharpening feature, NVIDIA’s spatial upscaler and sharpener located in the Control Panel, with an enhanced algorithm and made it easily accessible through GeForce Experience.

Since the last update of Nvidia Driver or GeForce Experience the Filter Menu (Alt+F2) does not work any longer. How can I make them work again? Other games still allow to use the Nvidia Filter Menu.

(Sorry German language)

I’m using GeForce Experience 3.27.0.112

I will try that.

Hacklier, have you tried emptying both Nvidia Shader cache folders and then installing the driver? You might get some temporary stutters initially as the shader cache rebuilds. If you have not done so, I would be inclined to try this. You can also clear the DirectX cache by using the Windows Disk Cleaner tool. Uninstall the driver, (I guess you have done this), then clear the Nvidia cache and DirectX cache, reinstall your driver. That’s all advice I can give you, I have no experience of the problem you are having.

Are you using DX 11 or 12? I see from your previous posting you use DX 12. Try setting DX 11 within the game settings.

Set driver defaults in the NVCP for the moment.

DLSS ON or OFF?

Are you, successfully using other games with filters enabled?

This appears to be related to the model of GPU in use. You might have to wait this one out and stop using filters temporarily.

Charles.

What GPU are you using?

Charles

I have Asus rtx 4090 . I did all what you write . DX12 , TAA not DLSS , but i go try DX11 , other games , i have only MSFS :slightly_smiling_face:
I did clean with DDU.
I will try DX11

Let us know how you get on, fill in the Nvidia Driver feedback form that I have posted above. You may have already done so

One finished experimenting, let Nvidia know what measures you have taken to try and mitigate your problem.

If anyone seeks out older versions of G-Force experience, only obtain your files from Nvidia and not a third party website because the files are executables!

Best of luck.

Charles

.68 Asus RTX 2080 DX11 TAA no problem at all.

So I found the cause of my CTD. Please note, that I only get the CTD when I’m trying to end flight and click on return to menu. Once it is in the loading screen returning to main menu, this is when CTD occurs.

So this is what is causing the CTD for me. If I use Nvidia filters and turn on Dev mode, my sim CTD when I try to return to sim main menu.

If I leave Dev mode Off with Nvidia filters On, I get no CTD.

If I turn Off Nvidia filters and turn Dev Mode On, I get no CTD.

So it seems the issue is having Dev mode On while using Nvidia filters.

What I found that If I want to have the fps counter on, all I do is click on Dev mode On without applying and saving(this will still bring up the top task bar) then I turn on display fps in the debug drop down. Then switch Dev mode back to off and apply and save. It will keep the FPS counter on until you restart sim again.

Hope this helps someone.

Well done! This information is very useful. Please can you file a bug report with ZenDesk and Nvidia

Charles

Well this problem has been known for quite a while. It is even mentioned in the nVidia release notes. It started with the driver release that introduced the video upscaling. If you want to keep using Filters you need to go back to 528.49

Yes, but even with the newest drivers, I do not get CTD. Just as long as I don’t have Dev mode On.

Can anybody else confirm if you are stable with newest drivers and Dev mode Off?

With the newest Nvidea driver i am getting the same issue and warning when ending a flight but i do not use Dev mode or Nvidea filters. I have never had a CTD before and have a very stable system usually. I rolled back to an older version of the Nvidea driver (not at my flightsim PC so unsure of the version number but file date was late March) and no longer have the issues.

I have Dev mode off when i put the filter make ctd give error bla bla if you check the last 3 drivers have that in notes. The problem is the Filters .
Please when some one writer no problem please say if user filter.
I have windows 10 can help , I have never one ctd with msfs only with last driver because the filter .

I’ll add another voice to the filters causing CTDs. Frustrating that the last couple of driver releases keep causing this. Its impossible to enjoy the sim in its default colour palette for me. I guess those of us with the issue must wait for the next driver (again) and hope it fixes the issues.

Or go back to 528.49 which is the last driver that works with Filters
