Just to save everybody from following the link, it tells you this:

NVIDIA Article: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5721/

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 581.47 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 581.42.

This Hotfix addresses the following:

  • Games may crash if the installed game directory contains Chinese characters while Smooth Motion is enabled [5537563]

So personally I’m not going to worry about the Hotfix.

Can anyone confirm / deny the typical DX11 crash? Or is that fixed now?

I can’t speak for this latest driver but the previous one still had DX11 crash with MSFS2020

I’m currently still on the last NVIDIA build

Hi everyone, works the nvidia filters again with the new driver ?

No filters not working for me yet. Only the HDR and Dynamic Vibrance ones currently work.

Under ‘None’ for filter it shows all 21, but you can’t select any of them for the custom profiles yet.

581.42 is working absolutely fine for me in 2024, with SU4 Beta (1.6.11.0) on a 5080.

Ok thanks… that is so bad…

Hello,

Flying on SU4 since the beginning. I had a lot of Sim freeze (no CTD) and even computer freeze using last nvidia drivers. I fought the freeze through add-ons, which led nowhere.

I rolled down the Nvidia drivers to 572.16 and no more freeze for 100+ h of flights, even multi-leg flights everything working very well. To test this hypothesis, I reupdated the drivers to last drivers, and … first flight, freeze after 20 minutes.

Anyone from the Asobo team is aware of this issue and can explain simply its cause regarding Nvidia drivers ?

AMD 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB DDR5 CL30, (No overclocking, except XMP 1 Profile)

I was informed of a Nvidia driver update yesterday, but I doubt you mean those as you did 100+ hours already? What was the version that caused you problems?

I did not see any issues with the latest drivers btw and sim freezes sound more like WASM crashes than driver problems.

Well, I don’t know.

But I got the freeze when not using drivers < 577.0. Like every flight. This freezes completely disappears if I install these drivers. Therefore, there is a conflict somewhere in the way the GPU is used through MSFS 2024 with these drivers, especially with the new CPU/GPU threading model used.

Could affect only RTX 5090 I don’t know. But rolling down to these drivers fixed the freezing issue. Which in conterpart don’t allow me to play games like Battlefield 6 (that requires newer driver version).

That’s basically it.

Are you saying that the 577 driver also causes freezing?

Mmmm… strange. You would expect hundreds of posts here if this were a general issue.

I’m using 581.57 with an RTX 4090 and don’t have any freezes.

I’m using the same driver and no freezing issues for me either

I can also say that I have had no freeze issues on any released or beta version of MSFS2024. I always keep on the current live version of the nvidia driver.

Are there any diags that you can run on your 5090 to see if you have overheating or memory issues?

You may need to do a DDU of your driver and do a fresh install of the 581.57 driver if you’re running into performance problems. It’s likely a caching error that happens when new drivers don’t fully overwrite exsisting cache files.

No problems with the latest Nvidia drivers (581.57) and my RTX 5090

I’m also having issues with anything above 577 (not included, actually using 577 and it’s working fine).

Not frezees, but the sim slowly starts to lose FPS

EDIT: Nvidia 3070 Laptop GPU

EDIT2: I do use DDU when testing new drivers
