Hope it solves the issues with the weird lightning Z effect and the random WASM.

Thank you for sharing!

Well MSFS2024 still won’t start with 616.92 either.

This new version works fine for me.

But i don’t know why version 616.56, 616.64 and 616.86 don’t work.

I haven’t had any problems starting MSFS 2024 with 616.92 and I have quite a lot of mods in my Community folder.

I don’t replace any original game files and I don’t use ReShade, DLSS Enabler or any mods based on the new “DLSS 5 Neural Rendering”.

In the NVIDIA app (MSFS 2024 profile), I have these settings:

  • DLSS: Model M, Quality
  • Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance
  • Resizable BAR: Enabled

All other options are left at their default settings.

Ryzen 7 9850X3D, ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090, 64GB DDR5.

EDIT

I also always uninstall the previous NVIDIA driver in Windows Safe Mode using the well-known DDU before installing a new driver.

It seems that the “Prefer Maximum Performance” Power Management Mode may not be applied correctly issue, has not yet been fixed with this driver.

Has anyone seen how bad the AA jaggies are? Way too much over sharpening. Using Reshade didn’t help!

Fixed via OTA application profile update to address the issue below. Judgement/Lost Judgement/ Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. may fail to launch after updating to driver 616.56 [6681537]
This update automatically downloads to your PC when:

It’s worth adding that this seems to be bugged in the Global Profile. That’s why I always recommend making changes in the individual profiles for each game or application. The Global Profile should be left at its default settings.

3 driver in a week , worth update?

Could you add a few screenshots for reference?

In PCVR, Win 11, Steam version. I’ve now had 2 freezes with this driver thru VR. Running it thru Quest link and doesnt seem to like it. Flatscreen still runs fine (game doesnt crash). NEVER had this happen before until this driver.

This sounds hopeful, but if I read this correctly you have to wait for 24hrs on a driver that I can’t load the game with.

It doesn’t sound much like a plan but it is the best I have heard so far, but what isn’t clear is whether you have to be on 616.56 or 616.92.

OK. My plan is to back up once again. Then install .56 then wait until Friday to see if anything changes. Will update when/if anything happens.

This driver is so far the best one for me. The previous three drivers have all caused MSFS 2024 to crash after 30 to 45 mins of flying.

I’m using DLSS ver 310.9.1 and performance is really good.

Same here.
Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-12700KF (3.60 GHz)

The update to the affected/bugged game profile is pushed in the background and added after you log into Windows if the driver is already installed. The 24-hour period is simply another trigger for checking for the OTA profile update - you don’t necessarily have to wait 24 hours.

Also, the OTA update I mentioned is not for MSFS 2024.

That said, I noticed that you are using mods that replace original game files and also add additional files to the folder containing the MSFS 2024 .exe. These can affect the game’s ability to launch.

As a matter of fact, yesterday I deliberately managed to reproduce a MSFS 2024 launch issue: I added ReShade and the new DLSS 5 mod specifically to force a problem. The sim then froze at 88% during loading and became unresponsive.

I could have blamed the driver, but that was exactly why I added those modifications -to deliberately introduce another variable and see if I could reproduce a launch failure.

I didn’t bother trying to uninstall the modifications one by one. To make absolutely sure that nothing in the Content folder could have any influence on the MSFS 2024 launch, I simply deleted everything from that folder.

I then opened the Xbox app and went to:

MSFS 2024 > three dots > Manage > Files > Verify and Repair

After the repair was completed, MSFS 2024 launched normally.
// In this case, the repair process essentially consisted of downloading the deleted MSFS 2024 launcher back into the Content folder.

So in my case, I could have blamed the driver for the freeze at 88%, but after removing the modified files and running Verify and Repair, MSFS started normally again.

That is a useful post for some people, but not for me as I don’t have any mods at all. I have not replaced the .exe nor added any other files into the folder.

I do not have dlss enabler installed, and I couldn’t test dlss 5, even if I wanted to, as you need a 616 driver.

That is the only reason that i narrowed it down to the driver as 2024 is installed as it came. You probably don’t remember but I stated that I had reinstall MSFS2024 as part of my diags.

I just did a 1h flight and did not have any problem.

I just update with the nvidia app like always.
