Octavi IFR-1 in MSFS 2024

Anyone any (good) experience with the IFR-1 in FS2024?
I learned to love it in 2020 and would like to use it again in 2024.
It shows up in the controller configuration but is not configurable or somehow working.
Thanks for any proposal.

They recently released a MSFS2024 plugin (which does not require the mobiflight setup) and it works flawlessly for me now… :love_you_gesture: https://www.octavi.net/ifr-1
They mentioned that the mobiflight set up would take a bit longer, but i dont see a need for that anylonger unless you want to customize the controls.

Good to know, thank you. I didn’t see this.

That was a good hint, thanks again. It brings me 66 % to usable
The remaining: I only can switch the 25 kHz frequency intervals but not the European required 8.33 kHz.
Any additional hint?

thats gonna be aircraft specific as far as i know.

Okay, thanks again.
We will wait and see.

If you are using spad next, I’ve made a profile that works with msfs 20 and 24 with panning and range options mapped too. Search by my username jvcerver

Thanks, I will have a try :+1:

Let me know if there is anything wrong and ill try to fix it.

Hello, just a question…search your username where?

In Spad.next, when making asignments to IFR1 buttons, you can click on “online snippets” there you can find a snippet for the whole device under my username.

I installed the MSFS2024 plugin for the Octavi but it doesnt work. In fact, I can see in the program window it says “Connected to MSFS2020”

Yes, I checked that I downloaded and installed the 2024 version.

Any hints and help would be much apprechiated.

I had issues so installed mobiflight and downloaded the profiles, no issues now

I think I had to click the uninstall older mobiflight button when installing the new software and it fixed it. It’s unchecked by default

Its unfortunately also overwritten by custom color settings in Windows 11 so you cant even see the checkmark and wether its on or off.

Dude !!!

I tried your profile - actually the first Snippet I ever tried in SPAD - and it works !! No need for the Octavi software, just works with SPAD ! (OK, the Autopilot settings dont seem to work but I dont need those myself).

I know that must have been a ton of time and work you put into that so I want to thank you for sharing this with everyone. For me this is a missing piece that finally allows me to fly a number of planes in 2024 the way I want to.

So again, thanks a lot !

EDIT: OK, Transponder doesnt seem to work either but thats cool. We’re cool, I love it !

Did you have any success yet?
I’m not able to get it to work at present. Don’t want to install spad to make it work!

I stopped trying after I started using Jvcerveros profile for SPAD. It might not work completely but it gives me what I need and its much easier than having to use yet another program.

It should work as before. I downloaded the updated 2024 setup from their website and simply installed it. There is a checkbox at the beginning that says to remove any existing mobiflight and voila. Works on 2020 and 2024 exactly the same(I’m bouncing between both nightly).

On their downloads page, just the simple 2024 installer.

Eventually I’ll get around to adding map range, but for now I just rock on as always with std bindings. Just make sure you use the shortcut exe for the 2024 app once the game’s up and running.

Thinking of getting an Octavi IFR1 to use in msfs 2020 on PC. Anyone tried it with Just Flight PA28s? Specifically I hope to use it with the Arrow III/IV Turbo. If yes, can the Octavi control the rather basic Autocontrol IIIB autopilot?
