Of the two glass avionic setups, which do you prefer, and why?
- G1000 PFD/MFD
- G3X with GTN750
G3X with the TDS GTNXi. Why? I don’t see things like bogus airports on the GTNXi. Additionally airport names are up-to-date (these are sim issues). The G3X and GTN series are also far more user friendly as they’re touch screen. I use the TDS GTNXi in MSFS 2024 and XP 12 and feel it’s worth it. It was ~$150 well spent.

This seems to be a very rare, localized issue, due to our hosting provider, hence why it works for most users, while in some very rare instances, there are issues as posted above. These usually get solved within an hour or so, so please try again.
As an edit, if you attempt to visit the website form the phone connected to the cellular network or using a different ISP, you will be able to connect just fine.

Personally I prefer the G1000 since I have over 1000hr IRl in front of one, very comfortable with it. but I’ll fly anything in the sim and love the more challenging six pack flying.

1. While I’m not a G1000 fan in general, in MSFS/24 I can control it with the Octavi IFR-1.
2. As it turns out, I don’t regularly fly any G3X equipped models, so an added GTN is irrelevant.

The G1000 for me
Because using the G1000 with the Octavi and two tablets with POPM makes the entire experience extremely immersive for me.

It’s hard to quantify. I’m starting to learn enough in SPAD to program my Streamdeck XL and Streamdeck Plus to work either system. But I’d much prefer a touchpanel setup (with SD+ knobs for those G1000 functions.)
The whole thing is of course predicated on what the individual aircraft uses. Ideally, there would be a simple way to get either panel system on my two iPads, with touch control. But it’s been frustrating. I’ve tried POPM and SpaceDesk with touchpanel monitors. Frustration.
I have two iPads now, and have found a G1000 App in the App Store that I haven’t tried yet.
The G3X/GTN750 is touch by nature (no knobs to worry about) but how to get them out to the iPads easily and reliably?
There’s a lot of information out there, but honestly, I’m in overload. That, combined with the issues I’ve had any time I try to do what should be a simple thing is driving me crazy.
