There will also be a Discord event channel open for those who want to voice chat with other members of the community.

Please see below for details on the upcoming Fly-In Event:

FLIGHT DETAILS

On April 1, NASA launched the Artemis II mission from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, sending three American and one Canadian astronauts on a trip to the moon! This will be the first time humans travel to the moon since 1972.

To mark this historic occasion, our Community Fly-In Friday group flight this week will see us visit the site of the Artemis II launch at Kennedy Space Center. We will start at KATL, the world’s busiest airport, and then have touch and go landings at Tallahassee and Jacksonville. Our route will also see us over fly the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Center resorts at Florida’s Walt Disney World!

Optional Payware Add-on: Participants may also choose to purchase the Kennedy Space Center V2 add-on by developer TerraBuilder from the in-sim Marketplace. This add-on allows simmers to see KSC during many different historical NASA eras, including Artemis, and also has the ability to launch rockets! This purchase is entirely optional and is not required to join this fly-in.

MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 Pilots on PC can download the .pln file here:
2026-04-03 Artemis II Launch.PLN (2.9 KB)

MSFS 2024 Pilots on PC, PS5, and Xbox can import the flight plan from the new Flight Planner tool at this link.

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or PS5/Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at KATL. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

Flight Planner tool link has the route of last weeks Flight. Fixing (like the Orion toilet system) needed.

I shoot, I pasted over the other URL for where it gives directions on how to import a flight plan using the Planner tool. Updating now…

Really looking forward to this one. See you later! :rocket:

Since there is no internal sorting options, for example Cruise speed, can you recommend an external tool or at least a website where the planes can be sorted in a table after certain criteria.

Thx

Today I didn’t see anyone else in Multiplayer. This is with the SU5 Beta, so no reason to worry, but a bit unfortunate for a community event. Few screenshots.

Hello @Orbitbold,

If you are in the SU5 beta, you will only be able to see other players who are also in the beta and not those who are using the regular SU4 release build. If you didn’t see anyone else today, it’s likely because you were the only beta pilot flying today’s route since most people use the release builds, not the betas.

Thanks,

Oh, I’m aware of that, which is why I said “no reason to worry”, as in, there’s nothing broken or wrong, and not seeing anyone is among the things that just can happen when using the Beta.

I still did the whole flight and enjoyed the views of Florida.

(Now back to the regular program, which is obviously the Artemis 2 livestream.)

I was the first time joining a community fly-in and also using multiplayer for the first time. I could see all the other planes, but when I tried to join the chat on discord it seems there was nobody on. Is that normal?

Hi friends, some footage here. :slight_smile:

Unfortunately I completely forgot about the Artemis II launch last week because of work related things, so I am happy this event reminded me that such an important real life event is actually happening. It is exciting to think about that just like millions of people watched their television sets in 1969 to witness the first moon landing, in the not so distant future we will be able to watch a moon landing again.

I chose the F-117 for this flight, it could easily match the recommended cruising speed and I still think it is probably the coolest looking plane ever made. I had to restart my flight because the flight plan was not loaded properly (I had a direct route from departure to arrival, no waypoints) so I had to do some catching up to the 2020 crew, but that was not a big issue plus live weather was really enjoyable too.

Catching up to the 2020 peeps:

Reeealy late start this time .. so Tomcat time

No Edorin or Hex this time but we had @JpFlyingHigh in a Rhyno that for some weird reason rendered to me as a Bonanza (even when i could see other Rhynos correctly) e36classic in another Tomcat, antg01 in a C700, @TheHunDude in a F117 that looked suspiciously like an A320 , @DangerBirdGT in a Mudhen that turned into a Phantom somewhere near the end @Adder9A in a correctly rendered Super Hornet and @HotwingsNZ in a cool T-38A wich for a chance i happen to have the model for

@HotwingsNZ NASA T-38A

TOMCATS!

So much coolness in little space:

@JpFlyingHigh not issue standard Rhyno

@DangerBirdGT Mudhen

@Adder9A Rhyno

of course because we were inverted and shenanigans

“Well, it’s actually about one and a half, I think. It was one and a half. I’ve got a great Polaroid of it”

yes we know about the finger goose

The extrange case of the Mudgen that became a Phantom but a Phantom is too cool to pass

And final arrivals

late bonus guess star appearance of @PAJASKGamer T930
