[Official] Community Fly-In Friday: Ecuador

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available to pilots of all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both sim versions (MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024) and PC, Xbox, and PS5 platforms.

FLIGHT DETAILS

We return to South America this week for a tour of Ecuador! Our flight plan will see us first fly northwesterly to the town of Manta on the Pacific Ocean coast for a touch & go landing then turn northeast as we make our way into the Andes Mountains to our final destination of Quito, Ecuador’s capital city. All are welcome to join!

MSFS 2024 Pilots on PC, PS5, and Xbox can import the flight plan from the new Flight Planner tool at this link.

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or PS5/Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at SEGU. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Beechcraft Baron, Beechcraft Bonanza, Cirrus SR22T, Diamond DA62, or any aircraft of your choice with a cruise speed of 150 knots or greater.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

This is meant to be a fun and informal flight. Everybody is welcome, no matter your platform, sim version, or level of experience.

Not sure, if I can make it today, but here are SEQM and SEMT as freeware:

SEQM just works

SEMT works, but has some overlapping buildings, generally not that great a detail without some undisclosed scenery libraries, so not sure if worth it

I was able to fly in formation with the Hellcat and the Spitfire under peaceful skies. I had a great time this week as well. Thank you, everyone.

It was a fun community flight! It was interesting to climb over the mountains towards Quito.

Unfortunately, at the very end when I was finding a parking spot, I had a CTD so I could not join the runway honour guard. Maybe a some add-on was the cause.

Had a chill flight last week, after the first touch-and-go live weather got more cloudy with a little wind and spots of rain at the end.

As a side note, cause this week was the Gijon International Air Festival and in honor of the TB-09 in wich i first flew GA and was part of the festival as well i took the TB-21GT
