[Official] Community Fly-In Friday: Guyana and Suriname

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available to pilots of all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both sim versions (MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024) and both the PC and Xbox platforms.

FLIGHT DETAILS

Our exploration of World Update XIX: Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana continues this week! This time, we’ll be visiting two more South American countries included in this World Update, Guyana :guyana: and Suriname :suriname:!

Our flight will begin at Guyana’s capital city of Georgetown then fly along the Atlantic coastline to Suriname’s capital, Paramaribo.

For the best experience, all pilots should download the FREE World Update XIX: Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana from the in-sim Marketplace.

MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 Pilots on PC can download the .pln file here:

MSFS 2024 Pilots on both PC and Xbox can import the flight plan from the new Flight Planner tool at this link.

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at SYEC. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Cessna 172, CubCrafters X or NXCub, Diamond DA-40, Flight Design CTSL, Pipistrel Virus, or any other aircraft of your choice with a cruise speed of 110+ knots.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

Live traffic As preferred
Weather Few Clouds
Time of Day Daytime

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

The time on the banner/image should had been 1800Z? :thinking:
(It’s used in yesterdays Dev Update as well, showing 1900Z)

Good catch, thanks. The 1900Z time on the banner image is incorrect. The start time is 1800Z as listed in the OP of this thread.

Despite me not having the world update, it was still another great fly-in!

Moment you notice so much speed left and getting that low you maked it yourself so difficult mate. Always keep a eye on the point you land. If you dont see it you abort an choose the go around.
Aim the numbers and keep your speed at final 90kts runway this short full flaps for the Bonanza.

For more fun and increase skills practice on a airport you like the most and make some touch an go. Take some objects as ref point and notice every touch and go’s. You will be better and better every T&G and laughs later how easy it finally was :wink:

Thanks for the tips. My landings are usually a bit smoother but I was racing both the landing and having to go for dinner so I was willing to attempt it.
