[OFFICIAL] Community Fly-In Friday: Halloween Edition

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available for all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both the PC and Xbox platforms.

Hosted by @Jummivana, @SeedyL3205, @Pieter1982NL, and @simtom2

When: Friday, October 29@ 1800Z for two hours. (NOTE: 1 HOUR EARLIER THAN USUAL)
2021-10-29T18:00:00Z
Where: The Official Twitch Channel of MSFS

There will also be a Discord event channel open for those who want to voice chat with other members of the community.

Please see below for details on the upcoming Fly-In Event:

FLIGHT DETAILS

With the Autumn months all up on us, we’ll be exploring a few interesting Fall-themed locations in the US states of Indiana and Kentucky. Pilots on the PC platform can download the .pln file for this flight here:
Community Fly-in 2021-Oct-29 Kentucky and Indiana.PLN (2.4 KB)

For Xbox pilots, I will spend the first few minutes of the stream quickly explaining how you can create your own flight plan using the World Map. Alternatively, you can simply fly along with the group without using a pre-defined flight plan.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Cessna 172, XCub, Pipistrel Virus, or similar.

We will be starting at 79KY. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the taxiway or parking.

MULTIPLAYER SETTINGS

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

Variable Setting
Server North Europe
Multiplayer All Players
Live traffic As preferred
Weather Few Clouds
Time of Day Day time

It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use “slew” mode to join the pack. If the pack will be too scattered before the first stop, we will use slew on a defined point to regroup.

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

LET’S FLY

This is meant to be a fun and informal flight. Everybody is welcome, no matter the amount of experience.

Note: I’ve updated the above post with a new .pln file and different suggested aircraft. The overall flight plan hasn’t changed significantly, but I changed a few airports and the direction of the flight.

Hi @JohnBrace,

Here’s a calendar to the start time. If you have your local time zone set in the forum software, this should display in your local time automatically:

Yes all clear now and thanks very much!

For those who don’t want to work with custom waypoints, you can enter this route directly into your GPS:
79KY - MCFEE - KIND - 6IN3

You don’t need permission.

They have issues with the stream, just follow it on twitch once it starts.

But â– â– â– â– , all these generic twin jet aircraft on their tails that are spawned instead of the Junkers Ju-52 are SO annoying :frowning:

that and magically freely levitating in one spot turboprops lmao

The levitating turboprops you could at least get rid of by installing a free addon. The Ju-52 you only can get rid of by buying the addon…

R44 (or whatever its called) is a free mod? good to know that i guess

Not online yet?

Xbox players can only see real type of Planes can use in this Moment

Nop
We’re a bunch waiting

No, but the Eurocopter is. In most cases that’s what the people are actually flying.
