FLIGHT DETAILS

Welcome back from the holiday break! For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, we’re now fully into the winter season, and we couldn’t think of better way to escape from the cold than a flight to sunny Hawai’i!

We’ll be departing from Hilo on the Big Island and then making our way westbound to Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. There will be several touch & go landings en route (including the state capital of Honolulu) before our full stop at Dillingham Airfield on Oahu’s northwest coast.

MSFS (2020) Pilots on PC can download the .pln file here:
2025-01-10 Hawaii.PLN (4.0 KB)

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at PHTO. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

And Working Title has just fixed the Planner bug that was not allowing airports to be used as waypoints along a flight - perfect for this flight plan!

Don’t forget your climbing gear… the Mauna Loa observatory (1st POI) is at ~11000 feet

I can`t see anyone…

I live near PHTO in real life and there are more planes here right now in the sim than I’ve ever seen at the real airport. Really cool to see.

It’s a shame FS2020 and FS24 don’t share multiplayer servers (iirc anyway). There were a lot of us on FS2020 today, would’ve been nice to see everyone in the screenshots regardless of sim version.

That would definitely be very cool! I still plan to use FS2020 in future fly-in’s so I’ll occasionally have screenshots from that. It is too bad they can’t share the multiplayer traffic data between sims.

I just did everything wrong i could.

Flying the Baron G58 like i always do… but realize all key bindings was for MSFS2020. Once done and taking-off late i could not see other players. Realizing a second time i made a mistake (could smash my head) Forgetting the player setting on “all players” and then my graphics…

See such Criminal(Pilot) great images of the H225 and the livestream graphics i just wanna throw my pc out of the window.
Done with my game pc using a Intel® Core™i7-3930K and GeForce RTX 2070

What a great start i made in 2025 hahahaha, will see you all next week !!
Wont make that mistake twice

I too made the mistake of trying the flight using 2024. Back to 2020 from now on. I could only see 2 other aircraft, the route did not show in the EFB, my Tobii eye tracker was stuck on , the stick settings all changed for some unknown reason, at the end I exited the aircraft only to find out that I could only walk backwards. What a nightmare this sim is!

Live weather was rainy and overcast before take-off, but shortly after that the sky cleared and the scenery was nice. I fell behind the others as I took a detour to check out the first POI which wasn’t in the flight plan. Overall I enjoyed the flight and it was a nice way to kick-off the 2025 fly-in Fridays. :flight_departure:

I had to wake up early for it, but I felt like I had to make it because it was occurring in my home region, and I have zero regrets about it.
