We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available for all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both the PC and Xbox platforms.

FLIGHT DETAILS

Our friends at Playground Games just launched Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox Series X|S and PC to critical acclaim. To celebrate the release, we’re planning a community flight to the country in which FH5 is set, magnificent Mexico! Enjoy the beautiful scenery as we fly through the Copper Canyon and make our way to the city of Chihuahua. PC pilots who wish to join us can download the .pln file here:

For Xbox pilots, I will spend the first few minutes of the stream quickly explaining how you can create your own flight plan using the World Map. Alternatively, you can simply fly along with the group without using a pre-defined flight plan.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Cessna 172, XCub, Pipistrel Virus, or similar.

We will be starting at MMGF. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the taxiway or parking.

MULTIPLAYER SETTINGS

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

Variable Setting
Server North Europe
Multiplayer All Players
Live traffic As preferred
Weather Few Clouds
Time of Day Day time

It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use “slew” mode to join the pack. If the pack will be too scattered before the first stop, we will use slew on a defined point to regroup.

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

Can I fly on Junkers JU-52?

Sure thing. Any plane that can cruise at around 110-120 knots is suitable for this fly-in.

Could you please include a screenshot of the flightplan so that I can load it in xbox in advance?

Not sure if it works all the time but I’ve piggybacked flight plans before. (Xbox)
Look for the little green planes in world map on the departure airport. Click on one and then click “load this flight plan” and you’re set.

Yes you can I accidentally found it out lol, it actually says “create flight plan” click on that and it loads into your system.
There’s another way of doing too, if you click “live airport activity” wait for the table to load and you can click on any departure and create a flight plan from it. I assume the flight plan has to be filed with ATC though.

Seems to work for AI traffic. Can’t seem find the option to load a fp from an active player though.

The active player will have to have a FP filed which they don’t always have. It’s definitely something that needs checking.

How set server North Europe and Multiplayer All Players on XBOX?

Under your logon in right upper corner is a drop down menu. Here you can select what server you would like to be on.

Does it have to have a max cruise around 120kt? I’d love to join the flight in an old warbird, almost like an escort flight. Something like the Milviz Corsair, or FlyingIron P38 or Spitfire.

No, cruise speed 110-120 knots is only recomended.
You can use any type of aircraft, that you can fly with it.

Now I am near the runway at the MMGF airport. How other see my plane? Like Junkers or monstered airbus 380, or something else? MFC 24RU.
