[Official] Community Fly-In Friday: São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available to pilots of all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both sim versions (MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024) and both the PC and Xbox platforms.

FLIGHT DETAILS

This week, we continue our discovery of World Update 19 with a flight between Brazil’s two largest cities, São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro! We’ll see world famous landmarks such as the beautiful beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana and, of course, the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.

MSFS 2024 Pilots on both PC and Xbox can import the flight plan from the new Flight Planner tool at this link.

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at SBSP. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Cessna 172, CubCrafters X or NXCub, Flight Design CTSL, Pipistrel Virus, or any aircraft of your choice with a cruise speed of 110+ knots.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

Finally a slower tour so I can fly a helo again. Decided on the “default” Career-mode-style H125 rescue livery.

Absolutely stunning scenery. Flying along the beach and coming into Rio de Janeiro was gorgeous.

Had a great time flying along the coast and inspecting the beaches with @Orbitbold for some impromptu fomation flying.

Same here, and I’m happy you liked it! Took me some time to notice you, then tried to fly in a somewhat predictable manner.

I started late this time due to the latest Beta update taking its time. I then had to find out that my good ol’ CPU (Ryzen 7 3700X) is highly allergic to the new Wake Turbulence feature in a multiplayer-rich environment.

But after getting that sorted out, I had a great flight.
