[Official] Community Fly-In Friday: Slovenia

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available to pilots of all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both sim versions (MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024) and PC, Xbox, and PS5 platforms.

FLIGHT DETAILS

June 25 is Slovenia Statehood Day (Dan državnosti), the national holiday to celebrate Slovenia’s declaration of independence in 1991. To commemorate the occasion, our Community Fly-In Friday group flight this week will be a scenic flight over this picturesque country in Central Europe.

For the best experience, MSFS (2020) players should ensure they have downloaded the FREE World Update 15: Central Eastern Europe from the in-sim Marketplace. MSFS 2024 users already have this latest scenery installed by default.

MSFS 2024 Pilots on PC, PS5, and Xbox can import the flight plan from the new Flight Planner tool at this link.

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or PS5/Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at LJMB. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: AeroElvira Optica, Antonov An-2, Cessna 152, Cessna 172, CubCrafters X or NX Cub , or any aircraft of your choice with a cruise speed of 100 knots or greater.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

This is meant to be a fun and informal flight. Everybody is welcome, no matter your platform, sim version, or level of experience.

Couldn’t join the last couple flights, due to vacation and illness, but back in action now.

Only thing worring me today is the heat in my room, the heat of the motion rig, the heat of the glowing brick in my face (Quest 3) and the heat of my pc exhaust. Don’t have AC (yet) in the room under the roof. Only mobile tower-fan.
I’m probably gonna die of a heatstroke today.

Anyway.

There are freeware enhancements for all the airports on the flight plan:

LJMB: This one is an enhancement for a payware version, but still works with the default one (without the payware assets).

LJNM: works in 2024, but default buildings still present under the custom ones.

I’ve been away for almost 2 months travelling, and got to see Ljubljana and parts of Slovenia in person, so this was a perfect communitiy Fly in Friday to come back to!

I was sweating soo much.

But that little cri cri jet is soo much fun. Like sitting in a RC model airplane. I think the jet engines are actually for big model airplanes. Accellerates like a fighterjet and goes easily to the red mark. But had to refuel each touch and go.
Finally pulled the trigger on it (together with a trike in bundle) in the summer sale.
